So good I had to visit twice.

Populus Coffee was the first stop on my solo European food and travel tour. Unfortunately, when I arrived to Berlin, I was not feeling well. I am usually obsessed with coffee and espresso drinks, even when I'm sick. However, maybe Europe inspired me because I ordered a lemon ginger tea instead. It was exactly what the doctor had ordered. To accompany the tea, I ordered a vegan cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was excellent. It was sweet, but not too sweet. Soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, how a cinnamon roll should be.

By my second visit to Populus Coffee I was feeling better. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and a lemon poppy seed loaf for breakfast. It was absolutely delightful! The cappuccino was strong, smoothe and frothy. The lemon poppy seed loaf was sweet, with a hint of tart. The thin layer of frosting on top brought everything together.

The decor was modern and fun. They have outdoor seating, which is great for people watching and viewing of the canal.

I didn't have any trouble ordering as the staff spoke English.

To watch me eat these snacks in real-time, and to see more of the Berlin cafes I visited, watch my youtube video below: "eat with me in Berlin." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p7Yw8BIiNw

Delicious coffee (no decaf and only 1 herbal tea though)

Best vegan cardamom bun I’ve ever had and delicious oat cappuccino. Nice shaded outdoor seating by the canal, plenty of space indoors too. They also do some light lunch options (but I didn’t try these to review)

Pros: A few (delicious) vegan options, Great atmosphere , Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive , No decaf coffee / only 1 herbal tea

Hey, Thank you for the review. I just wanted to let you know that we have added decaf to the menu for all espresso-based drinks (and it's the best decaf we've ever had). We also have some new tea options.

Great coffee

Nice coffee shop with one veg and one vegan sandwich and four to five vegan cakes.
I had the sandwich which was tasty and pretty loaded. Oat milk latte did the business. Friendly staff but busy.

Coffee and sweets

Their vegan sweets are absolutely outstanding, e.g. carrot cake, banana bread, cardamon and cinnamon rolls and other (the offer is changing regularly). Daily vegan sandwich is tasty as well.
In my opinion the best coffee in Berlin.

Excellent coffee, good coffee gift options, delicious pastries

A coffee roastery next to Maybachufer canal. Nice bilingual staff and you can see the roasting machine. All blends are available in the shop plus cold brews, wines, and coffee apparatus.

The speciality coffees are fantastic. Each shot is weighed and the baristas really know their craft. The plant based milk is unfortunately at an additional cost and they do not offer decaf.

There is WiFi and bathrooms, card and cash are accepted. Currently only outdoor seating due to Covid (as of Sep 2021).

For food there are a couple of sandwiches- one always vegan. There are also baked sweets like loaves, buns, pastry and more - half of which are vegan and some are flourless. All clearly labelled.

Pros: Coffee quality, Sweets, Good gift options

Cons: Vegan milk extra
