Excellent but expensive - Edit
During a recent short family trip to the beautiful green food desert that is Stowe, VT, we dined here one evening. We had a salad, vegan crabcakes and a salad of tomatoes and crispy tofu for starters. For entrees we had the homemade veggie burger, a roast head of cauliflower on a bed of roasted garlic quinoa and a mushroom fettucini dish sans sausage that might have had a touch of cream in it. We also had a couple of glasses of wine, coffee and some non-vegan desserts but also a very pedestrian rapsberry sorbet. Everything was excellent except for the sorbet, which could have been better. The bill was almost shockingly expensive but it was easily the best meal we had eaten in a week.

So yum! - Edit
Got the vegan crab cakes… they were so good! Husband got the veggie burger with potatoes… very hearty patty and he loved it! I got the spaghetti squash with veggies and tofu and a side of asparagus… I loved the flavors in the plant milk curry sauce!! The drinks were amazing! The service was great! Highly recommend 😊

Good, small-portioned pricey food with limited options - Edit
The Plate is a noteworthy restaurant in Stowe, known for its eclectic menu and positive vibe. The locally-sourced food is delicious in small to average portions. I was surprised to find only 1 vegan appetizer, 1 vegan salad and 1 vegan entree on the menu. Very limited. No vegan desserts. Kudos to them for having the option of adding tofu to my salad, but that brought the price of my small salad to $20.
Read moreThe vegan entree - a tofu vegetable stir fry - was very tasty, but the smallish portion at $26 was a bit pricey. After spending $64 - for a 3 course meal without drinks - I was still hungry, as nothing - like bread - is include with the meal without paying an additional $7.
Pros: Vegan options , Option to add tofu to your salad
Cons: Expensive as hell, Small portions , Very limited vegan options

This place is delicious and will be suitable for finding a few vegan menu items. Jamie was so sweet and gave us this amazing vegan cheese. GET THE VEGAN CRAB CAKE! We will be back for sure.

Super accommodating - Edit
Amazing customer service with very welcoming staff. We called a couple days in advance to tell them we’re vegan and make reservations, and when we arrived, one of the owners said, “We have a surprise for you!” She had personally made us a vegan cheese plate of almond feta and some sort of walnut mushroom block that was quite tasty. She is a vegetarian herself and wants to start adding vegan cheese to their salads. Also loved the vegan crab cakes and cookie pie dessert.
