Good food but plastic use can be improved! - Edit
Generally, food is good, local and trying the meals of my friend I have no doubt that many of them are delicious.
Read moreHowever I was left a bit disappointed with the PMK bowl which I think could be improved: I didn't really appreciate the cold noodles and the acidity of the marinated cabbage and pickles (too acidic for me I didn't expect it). Marinated tofu was fine but not special, a bit dry. Sweet potato and beans was a good mix.
I ordered an energy juice which was very good but I was quite disappointed to see it coming in a plastic container (supposed to be biodegradable but everything is no?) and especially a plastic straw (for those who don't know this is killing marine life especially - so not really vegan?!)
I know i'm a bit critical here but considering the other mostly very positive reviews I hope this one can help the owners to make improvements for those vegans who care about zero waste. I'm open to put a better review and delete this one when there'll be no more plastic at PMK :)

Regarding your plastic concerns - ALL or our take-out materials are recycled and compostable paper products OR corn-based compostable plastics. We have always used these materials. We regularly look for better options but these are the best we have at the moment. And, we feel we are doing the best we can for sure!

What a wonderful restaurant a nice meal! Met the owner a few times at the restaurant, and he is such an amazing a dedicated person! Some restaurants barely have owners that even visit their establishment, but that is not the case here. And it shows!

PMK is fantastic! The food is always good, the venue is nice and the staff is friendly. My non vegan friends really enjoy it too. I love the weekend brunch and donuts. I went to one of their beer and vegen cheese tasting events which was great.

It's so refreshing to go to a restaurant like this where I know everything is vegan and the menu items are so good that it's hard to pick just one. It's pricey but then again it is a gourmet restaurant with organic and locally sourced food. I recommend it to all my friends and family

Traveling again with work, this time in London. Checked my Happy Cow. Cow says try Plant Matter, looks great. Cow was right. I LOVED this place. If you get the lady server with the cute nose ring and the sweet personality, that's Kelsey and she is marvellous. Kelsey introduced me to Booch and it was delicious. Will have to pick some up before heading home (it's made locally). So it was hard to choose what to have, everything looks great on the menu. They got great ratings on their burg and I love burgers. But in the end I had to have the baked Mac n cheese. My picture doesn't do it justice. It was today's special that came with roasted green beans and red pepper and some fresh sprouts. Really really good. Had to thank the chefs for making me such a good dinner. These people got it together in all the best ways. I can see why they're winning awards.

This place is great. Prices are higher, but I am happy to pay them every once and a while as there isn't a ton of fully Vegan places in London. The staff here is lovely. I've been multiple times and on one occasion we had to wait a bit due their business and they approached us with apologies and offered a free dessert. I absolutely love all the breakfast and brunch options, every single thing was delicious. As for regular meals, we haven't found one yet that we didn't thoroughly enjoy. If it was just a little bit cheaper I would go on a more regular basis.

Thanks for the feedback and we are glad you enjoyed the food- did you know that we only use organic ingredients including spices and oils and even reverse osmosis water to make all of our food? We also make everything from scratch every day using locally sourced items wherever we can. We work very hard to make our food from the finest ingredients and sources while pricing it competitively with most restaurants. We have very high standards for what we will serve and these do make the food cost a little more - but we know it's worth it.

This place was absolutely fantastic. I had a burger with a side of soup and a kombucha. They had a wide variety of food from noodles bowls, to burgers, to dessert. Everything was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone.

This place is a must visit! Having a full menu that is 100% vegan is of course amazing, but add on super friendly and welcoming staff and it makes this place a 5-star. I've been on a number of occasions with family and friends and have never had a complaint.

Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. I was most impressed at how they were anxious to customize a meal with substitutions to meet my tastes. Even though I'm not a coffee drinker, I was there late morning, and the were many dine in and carryout customers who showed up for coffee. Good bake goods also.

I really like that they serve local craft beer and cater to local small businesses (teas, etc.) which can be found at the storefront.
Everyone at PMK is really friendly and know their stuff. They have always been happy to make recommendations and take the time to ensure you are happy with your meal.

Everything about this place is great! First of all their is lots of space. Which is a good thing as they were crazy busy! The waitress who sat me down and served me was enthusiastic and clearly in love with her job. But it was the food that made the greatest impression. Without a doubt one of the best, or possibly the very best vegan food I have ever tasted! As it was a brunch,I had the Spanish Omelette with Tempeh bacon (so good!) and Hash Browns. I assure you it all tasted more then great! Around me Thierry was a pleasant buzz of conversation, in intrusive music played in the background, and the atmosphere was generally cheery. I will definitely reckoned to everyone and return first chance I get! Good work guys!

I was recently in London for a university convocation. We chose Plant Matter Kitchen for a celebratory lunch since all 5 of us are vegetarian. It was fantastic! The mac & cheese called out to most of us, but one member of our party chose the almost-raw wrap. All of us were thrilled with our meals! The mac & cheese was so delicious and creamy and so full of flavour that I think I could live on it! We all tasted a smoothie and shared a cookie and devoured our salads too. My only wish is that there was a Plant Matter Kitchen closer to my home (near Kingston, ON)!

An excellent location wifh fun staff. A nice open kitchen, some outdoor seating and good menu selection. Open for brunch on Sundays. There is a take out side and sit down area. I don't live in London but what a great Vegan gem. I will visit again when next in town.

I stopped in at PMK for a coffee during morning ‘break’ time. The staff were very energetic, friendly and welcoming, and convinced me to try the vegan chocolate chip banana bread. I was intrigued and at the same time, concerned about how it would taste. I was a believer after just one bite—it was full of flavour and was certainly the best banana bread I’ve ever eaten. Normally, I would have felt guilty for indulging in such a treat, but because it was vegan, I felt good for having a snack that tasted great and wasn’t full of empty calories. It was a pleasure to find a vegan restaurant where delicious and nutritious co-exist. Also worth noting was that it wasn’t a tiny slice of bread, but a “personal” sized loaf that was a large portion and could have easily been shared.
