CLOSED: Community hot spot - Edit
The breakfast options are broad and there are even more cakes and sweets. For my taste, the carrot salmon was a bit sour, but still good. I really like the atmosphere and seating and that there are so many events and classes going on. I feel that some of the prices of the community events are a bit high, but the café prices are quite reasonable.

In addition to stopping by a week before, I went on their last day (2024-08-29). Most of their menu was no longer available, and they were liquidating some raw ingredients (e.g., kala namak, nooch). Their books were all 25% off, too, so I picked up a copy of “How to Create a Vegan World” by Tobias Leenaert, which I’ve been meaning to read. It seemed like a great third place while it lasted. I’m not sure why they are closing, but I wish the staff all the best!

Ok, but not amazing - Edit
My hubby took the scrambled tofu and it was so salt it was almost uneatable. I had the golden porridge, which did taste great but had no milk (I know there are different traditions for with or without, I’m definitely team with milk). Cakes did not taste of much. Glad we had the chance to try before they closed, but I would not have made a return visit.

Was fun while it lasted. Plant Base is closing on August 29, 2024, and I took the chance to have a last breakfast there with a friend: the plate for two, with divine tofu scramble, three kinds of dips, kimchi, feta, a granola. The weather was beautiful and as always we sat outdoors. I also bought their cookbook —„Vegan Curious“— a colourful collection of recipes with detailed instructions. The creators will continue organising events, but the location will see a new vegan restaurant soon.

Der Laden ist eigentlich ganz ok. Die Kuchen/Torten sind wirklich über alles erhaben. Das Frühstück ist sehr inspiriert und eher fade. Die Preise sind sehr hoch (Prenzlauer Berg halt), was die Hipster hier ja nicht weiter stört. Nicht schlecht, nicht geil. Einfach ok-yer laden.

nice vibey atmosphere, all vegan. got cheese cake it tasted like oatmeal with no flavor. Egg bagel, was cold with pickles. too strong and salty for my liking. Chai latte was really nice, homemade. maybe other options on the menu are good..

My vegan caprese croissant was out of this world, I never had a good experience eating vegan mozzarella but this one was simply amazing. Their rose cardamom latte was also delicious. I didn’t find the prices to be too excessive given the quality and the location! Definitely would recommend it!

This is the most vegan place I've ever been to! Well, what does that mean? Some places just don't use animal products in their dishes, but this is an actual hub for veganism. They put information all over the restaurant about how to get involved in vegan trivia night, vegan dating nights, vegan team building events, vegan book clubs. They hold vegan cheese making workshops, kimchi workshops, polish dumpling workshops, cocktail workshops, latte art and barista workshops, and so much more.
Read moreThey sell books about veganism, too. Including cookbooks. In the bathroom, there are handouts about animal rights and vegan Sundays hosted by green market berlin.
Also, the breakfast plate and soup were amazing, that goes without saying. They even sell their dips, spice mixes, and elements from their dishes, like the bacon chips and granola.

Everything is perfect at Plant base. The food is incredible as is the spirit of that beautifull place. They organise a lot of vegan events from cooking workshops to dating nights.

very tasty but with so many amazing reviews I had honestly expected to be more impressed. The tofu scramble was nice, but a bit salty; the bread slightly dry; the spreads were very nice; the carrot cake enjoyable but far from the best I've had (the frosting was sort of weirdly gooey in consistency and super sweet and the cake on the dry side); coffee was very good but not exceptional. Space is pleasant and lightful and the staff nice. I'd be curious to try the platters and the porridge sometime.

For me one of the best breakfasts in Berlin. I really like it there. Cozy, lots of plants, nice service, super delicious food. The Plate for 2 in particular is super good, a bit of everything. There's just always not enough bread for the great spread and scrambled tofu. A very small drawback, as it is easy to reorder. ;)
