Vegan burger

After searching for a vegan-friendly spot in Dobříš, we came across Pizzeria Olivo.

The restaurant is spacious, and to my surprise, we were greeted by an English radio station playing in the background. The waitress was polite and friendly, and she kindly checked with the chef to confirm that the pizza dough was indeed vegan — which was helpful, as the menu didn’t list allergens or provide any vegan labels, apart from the “Vegan Burger.”

I ended up ordering the Vegan Burger, which was tasty overall. The only downside was the vegetable chips on the side — some were quite chewy and unpleasant to eat. I’ve had a similar experience with store-bought veggie chips, particularly parsnip ones, so it may just be the nature of the product.

My partner had the Pizza Pane, essentially a simple pizza dough with olive oil and garlic. We also ordered one for our little one, adding extra toppings to create a custom vegan pizza. This wasn’t listed on the menu, so we had to ask if it was possible — and we had no idea what the added toppings would cost until we got the bill.

All in all, I was glad we found a place in Dobříš where we could enjoy a vegan lunch. That said, there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to ingredient transparency and clearly marking vegan options on the menu.
