Vegan UNfriendly - Edit
How this place gets the vegan friendly certification beats the crap out of me!
Read moreWhile the workers knew little about what was vegan and what was not (i asked and after 15 minutes had to ask again and after phone calls they still did not seem sure), they claimed even the pasta in tomato sauce was not vegan, even though, other branches have told me it is. According to the workers at this branch the only thing they have vegan is pizza. I was by myself, and unlike regular pies where they will sell you a personal pie. Here they would only sell me a family sized pie. So instead of paying 30 shekels, i would have to pay 75. The reason that was given is "what do I with the rest of the Vegan cheese package once I open it?" So while the guy next to me got a personal pie, I would have to pay 2 and a half times the price, because I'm vegan. Vegans complain about the additional 2 sheks for coffee, what about an extra 45 NIS for pizza? Totally disgusting.
In terms of the pizza itself, I've had it in the past and it is NOTHING special. It is the most basic cheap vegan cheese (which sticks to the roof of your mouth), with not enough sauce, and a low quality pizza hut crust which is no better than the 30 shekel pizza pie places. The size of a family pie is not large, its just enough for 2 adults to split. Unless I am superhungry, AND craving pizza, AND had someone to split a pie with, there is no way I would visit this branch.
