great vego restaurant with vegan options - Edit
Peppermaint Guest House restaurant is a short walk from the fruit and veg market in Soi 6 Moon Muang Road ... I called in for breakfast and had coffee and a slice (square) of great tasting vegan pizza (฿70) and topped up with fruit from the market ... the restaurant is in a great location and has a nice atmosphere

Best vegan affordable Breakfast - Edit
Had the breakfast set A, vegan omelette with 2 toasted slices of whole-wheat bread, jam, vegan butter and some salad. For an additional 10 baht I was able to exchange the coffee for Thai coconutmilk iced tea. Altogether I payed 100 baht. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was divine. They even gave me some extra tea to fill up my glass as soon as some ice melted. May not be the fanciest looking place, but it sure was one of the best breakfast I had so far.

I'd set my search for vegan so this didn't come up and by coincidence it's right outside my hotel.

Welcoming, friendly and plenty of choices - Edit
I went to this place 5-6 times as the area has good vibes, well located and the menu is so diversified (western and thai food). I recommend their thaï food that is fantastic, I was also happy to find delicious vegan pizza there. I was always very well welcomed by the beautiful old woman, and the team.

Disappointed - Edit
Disappointed with this place, got a vegan lasagna for 100 baht, very small, was not even with pasta, it was like sourdough and tomatosauce? The taste was nice but very diasppointed because I looked forward to a lasagna... won't go back here.

Some good dishes, others very mediocre - Edit
Four of us ate dinner here, after looking for another restaurant that had moved. So, it was not our first choice, but ....
Read moreThe menu is quite varied with excellent descriptions and photos. In addition to regular Thai food, they also create pizzas which looked lovely.
Because we were starving, we ordered Massaman curry, a green curry, Chiang Mai curry, ginger fried vegetables, fried pumpkin, fried rice and a lentil salad.
The food arrived at a variety of times - something quite common in Chiang Mai where restaurants may only have one burner, so not a problem. Within ten to fifteen minutes, all the dishes had arrived. The portions were of a decent size, but we have had larger in Chiang Mai.
The dishes we found good were the green curry and the ginger fried vegetables. The lentil salad was okay, but nothing special. As for the massaman and the Chiang Mai curry, they were very bland - almost completely lacking flavour. The pumpkin dish was also disappointing.
The prices, for what we ate, were more than I found reasonable (total of 535 baht). Had the dishes been flavourful, I would have found them acceptable.
Very disappointing and we won't return as there are many far better places to eat in CM.
Pros: diverse menu with photos and explanations, nice location, good service
Cons: many of the dishes lacked flavour, prices were high for what we received

Maybe not the best but the food was good - Edit
While previous reviews report they serve bland food, we did not have this experience and the food had good taste. Probably not the best in Thailand, but we had decent Thai and western food. I tried the tom yum soup that was perfectly spicy, the pad thai was also good even if it lacked a bit of peanuts and the pesto pasta were very good. Prices were not high for the quantity and the owner was very friendly. Besides, the place is pleasant and calm. I would come back to try their pizzas and other dishes.

Mostly bad food :( - Edit
I feel bad to write this cuz the woman that owned the place
Read morewas really nice but the food is quite tasteless. The curries
are lacking salt and basic flavor big time. Veg are just boiled and tofu is never fried. I had better vegan food in jail! The
brownie was ok and the vegan pizza by the slice was not bad. I think it's a nice place to sit for coffee or a smoothie but there's much better food in every direction.

Super tasty - Edit
I have been in Chiang Mai for over a week and I have eaten here most days. The owner Mai is lovely, such a nice and kind hearted lady. I have mostly eaten the curries which are super tasty. I also have been getting a coconut milk latte here and it is good, I'm from Nz and we have really good coffee there so my expectations are high.

disappointingly bland food - Edit
We went to this place two times, as the location was so convenient for us and we like supporting fully vegetarian restaurants rather than eating at omni places. We really wanted to like this restaurant, but alas, both times the food we got was bland, dry and tasteless. There's much better options in town.

I had hopes but it was disappointing - Edit
I walked past this place many times as it was next to where I was staying. The menu looked promising so we decided to stop by for lunch. It was probably one of the worser meals I’ve had in Chiang mai. we ordered the lentil burger and the bread was so dry, there was no sauce and only a bit of lettuce and carrot. The lentil patty itself was okay but that’s really all I could eat, not sure if there other food is good but don’t have the burger. Beyond disappointing

disappointing to say the least :( angry staff and bad food - Edit
after going to several other vegan/veggie restaurants (Vegan Heaven, Freebird Cafe... and feeling underwhelmed by the food there, my friend and I still weren't about to give up on them so we ended up at Peppermaint's. We were greeted by a nice lady and while ordering she was accommodating with us wanting glass noodles instead of rice with the Tom Kha, we also got a good old green curry.
Read moreThe Tom Kha was the first to come, it was average tasting, watery, cooked with old and somewhat oxidised vegetables, but we were hungry so we happily ate it. Then soon after the green curry came. My friend started eating it first, he had a rather mild reaction of dislike towards it. I thought perhaps it's just gonna be one of the many disappointing dishes we've had here in Chiang Mai but i was wrong -- I had a sip of the soup and it tasted like water with a hint of coconut milk. It didn't even taste like something I should swallow. My friend tried some of the veggies and he couldn't swallow it either. We soon finished the Tom Kha and told the nice lady about the horrid green curry, she gave us no response but addressed the chef in Thai and then walked away. The chef came and wanting to take the curry to spice it up a bit but we declined. When we went up to the lady to pay, she charged us for both dishes, and when we told her we didn't take the curry anymore she became angry and raised her voice accusing us that we should have told the her that the curry was not tasty right when we got the dish. Her smile vanished to nowhere and her negative energy crept up to our spines. We paid, thanked her and left.
It's saddening to see the suffering in the lady and how that has seeped into the vibe and food of Peppermaint. We appreciate that it's a veggie restaurants but hope that there will be more love and compassion shown to the customers and put into the making of the food. All the best.
Pros: nice & accommodating staff (so it seemed at first)
Cons: watered down curry soups and veggies are not fresh, bad attitude when dealing with issues with food
