Came here based on the reviews and was a little disappointed at how few options there were for vegans. The vegan options aren’t clearly marked on the menu but the waiting staff are happy to discuss. There were possibly 3 vegan sauce options but I just opted for the tomato sauce with basil. Only one of the pasta types was vegan so I had to have that one. We also shared some bruschetta.
Read moreThe food overall was really nice and the main pasta option was a decent portion size. Just wish some of the inventive options seen on here previously were still available.
We came on a Friday and booked ahead. There were only 2 waiting staff and they were totally rushed off their feet. Not sure if that’s normal for the restaurant but I’d recommend booking ahead and leaving at least 2 hours for a starter and main.

Came here after reading some positive reviews. Chose one of the two pasta meals labelled vegan on the menu, only to be told that they don't have vegan pasta and only the sauce is vegan.

The only downside was that the toilets were really smelly, so bad that you noticed in the dining area. I hope this was a one time thing

Affordable very good pasta - Edit
They have about four sauces for the pasta, I had vegan ragu (no ragu, just tomato sauce and vegetables) and it was delicious. You choose your pasta and two are vegan (ask which, it's the green spinach one and the brown spaghetti, on request they also have gluten free but I don't know if that's vegan). The pasta is excellent and cooked Al dente.

I really liked this restaurant. The pasta tasted great - it is amazing how much better fresh pasta can taste. I had the vegan ragu and loved it. Vegan options clearly labeled and the waiter pointed out without us asking which pastas had animal products (two pasta shapes were vegan).

This is the best pasta we have ever eaten! It was fresh and tasty and the Vegan ragu was brilliant. We've had a salad as a starter and veggie bruschetta, which was absolutely delicious. We totally recommend going here when you are in Valletta. It's great taste for a reasonable price

From what we could see there was one vegan sauce option - vegan Ragu. It wasn’t incredible but it was tasty and did come with fresh vegan pasta. We also had bruschetta to start. Not the best spot for vegan food but it filled a hole.

We expected to go to a place where pasta is freshly cooked. Unfortunately, all sorts of pasta weren’t available. The bruschetta was ok and the waiter serving drinks was very nice (that’s the one star rating). The waitress serving good and explaining pasta was very moody. She explained we couldn’t get seaweed pasta as there was no seaweed to get on Malta at this time. Yet, both our neighbours got it. Furthermore, we ordered the big portion and only got a very small portion, our neighbours who ordered the small potions got way more pasta compared to what they gave us. We had Aglioolio olio with Chili and the only things we could taste was Chili and oil, so no good at all. We were highly disappointed and cannot recommend this place at all. If you ask, there’s a lot of places that offer vegan food in Valetta even though not offered in the menu but this place is not the one to go to.

Pastaus has some vegan options. You can choose from different type of homemade pasta. But not all are vegan, you have to ask staff. I had spinach pasta and it was yummy.

Had an amazing dinner here. They have several vegan starters, three vegan options for mains, and one vegan dessert. I skipped the starters and went for a big portion of vegan ragù. It was sooo good!
Read moreYou can choose which kind of home made pasta you want, and they offer two vegan options: one with spinach and one with chili. I went for the chili since it pairs well with the ragù. Really tasty.
If you order a starter and/or aren't a big eater, I would recommend the small/ starter portion of pasta. I had the bigger portion and was absolutely stuffed!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a delicious and filling vegan meal. It's also a great place for people who are travelling with non-vegans.
They don't have vegan cheese, but I didn't miss it at all: my pasta was so flavourful on its own!
I would also advice you to book your table in advance, the place fills up quickly 😉 We (2 people) didn't reserve a table and could still be seated, but we sat inside at a table in the corner.
We paid €38 for a bottle of water, one glass of wine and two big portions of pasta, which I think is fair considering the portion sizes and how delicious it all is!
