Yummy slurpy ramen - Edit
I appreciated that they had 4 vegan ramen clearly labeled as vegan. It would.have been nice to know what some of the ingredients were on the menu.

The better ramen option - Edit
Update: they have revamped their menu since reopening, and they have a fourth ramen option now! Their bao buns no longer specify vegan, but they are if you order with tofu.
Read moreBowl 91 has eliminated many of their vegan offerings since COVID.
But in comes ototo, with its small menu, but fantastic food.
There's three vegan ramens to choose from, including the one I got, Tantanmen. The broth was bursting with flavor, as was the roasted tomato they use in lieu of an egg. And the tofu was perfectly fried.
The bao buns were also tasty. They have that springy texture you expect from a steamed bread, and though the thick slab of tofu was a bit unruly in the bun, the sauce was delicious.
I'll definitely be back to try the other offerings.

More vegan ramen options! - Edit
It's so fun to have more vegan ramen options in Appleton! I got the Tonkatsu ramen and really liked it. Even better were the bao buns made with tofu - they were phenomenal!!

So so so good - Edit
Three vegan ramen options and one appetizer that can be veganized.
Read moreWe got the pork bao buns (vegan version is tofu) and they were so good. Even my mom liked them and she is pretty picky with tofu. I ordered the tantanmen ramen and my mom got the spicy miso. Both were very spicy and super flavorful.
If you don’t like sesame, don’t get the tantanmen lol.
Spicy miso might have been too spicy for my mom.
I really liked that they subtracted $2 from the bao buns because they came with tofu instead. A lot of restaurants wouldn’t do that.
