How refreshing an entirely plant based menu is! Owners are genuinely conscientious, atmosphere is chill, food is out of this world fantastic. They source fresh and locally, make their own meats, cheeses, creams... I went there twice with a carnivorous friend who loved what he got: steak (Seitan) tacos, and the carrot cake waffle. I tried his meals and they were outstanding. I got the O.L.T. Sandwich made with their homemade oat sausage - the sandwich was HUGE and DELICIOUS!!!! The O.L.T. came with the french fries which are crazy good. I also ordered the suuuuuuper awesome cheesecake waffle. YUM. We each ordered different juices of the day which were ultra tasty and refreshing. Would love to eat at Origin all the time :)

Amazing Gourmet Plant Based Food - Edit
Origin is a fully plant based restaurant owned by a beautiful vegan couple. It was difficult to find vegan cuisine in San Pedro, Belize until we found Origin on our vacation in February, 2020. Amber, the creative chef is a Cordon Bleu trained chef who has transformed her training into delicious plant based foods all made from scratch. The cheese, seitan, breads, milk and everything is lovingly created and made on site.

The Origin Burger 🍔 made of Seitan , onion rings nacho 🧀 cheese and tomatoes is especially good for lunch and the Johnny Cakes with beans are a favourite of mine for breakfast. For a more hardy breakfast try the cheesecake waffles. Other great dishes include Cauliflower 🌮 Tacos, Heart of Palm Ceviche and Everything Nachos with Amber’s meat made of a secret mix of 🍅 numerous vegetables and textured vegetable protein.
The restaurant has a great ambience with comfy cushions, bright colours and soft music. It is located in the heart of San Pedro and easily accessible by foot within minutes. This restaurant is for vegans and non vegans alike who want a tasty plant based menu that is reasonably priced and is great for the 🦒 animals, the environment and your health!

Recommend the Johnny Cakes with nut cheese and black beans, or the variety of waffles for breakfast. Cauliflower tacos, Origin burger for lunch.
Pros: All vegan. Friendly., Delicious, creative, well-presented food., Comfortable decor, great prices.
Cons: Wish they were open in the evenings too.

By far the best vegan burger I’ve ever had. I’ve had so many but none compare. The staff are so friendly and kind and are willing to accommodate. Both times I went I had a great experience. Thank you very much!!!!

Origin is gourmet vegan comfort food at its finest (at incredibly reasonable prices, and with generous servings). The Chaya waffles with cashew cream cheese and citrus Habanero syrup are out of this world. I’ve never had anything like it. Would also recommend the steak tacos, the fried cauliflower tacos, and the johnny cakes. We are so impressed with Origin that we are working our way through every item on the menu. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, and the owners are very friendly. San Pedro is a better place because of Origin and it’s owners.

Origins is a place you can relax and know everything is vegan, clean, and nutritious. The Belizean vegan family owners are environmentalists and caring about this planet and all of its inhabitants.

To start with, I like the uncluttered, sober yet vibrant ambiance. The menu had a lot of appealing dishes (planning on trying them all eventually) but I went for the burger and the oat Chaya. Burger Patty was full of flavor, just a very mild soy-meat-like taste but juicy and succulent; vegan cheese was perfect, the pretzel bun crunchy and soft at the same time, onion rings in the burger are a plus and do not overpower the rest of ingredients. The french fries were some of the best I have tried.

All plant based. Lots of choice. Small, friendly and cosy. Service is excellent. Breakfast and lunch only. I hope they expand into dinner service as this is the only vegan restaurant in San Pedro.

This place is amazing!!!!!! We ate the Chaya waffle and the banana bread toast. We have no complaints at all. It tasted great. We will be returning for lunch! We only wish we had found this sooner!!!!!! The owner and everyone working there was so great to talk to. Amazing experience.
