Organic Excellence…!

When we were in Lisbon, we couldn’t resist checking out the vegan spots on Happy Cow. One of the top-rated restaurants we found was Organi Chiado, which is just a short walk from our place in the Bairro-Alto. So, we decided to go for lunch and see what all the fuss was about!

The place was already packed when we got there, but the inside had a cool, sophisticated vibe. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Of course, all that sightseeing had made us thirsty, so we started with a couple of super cold Super Bocks.

For our main course, we shared an appetizer of bread and pâtés. Oh my gosh, the spreads were amazing! There were three different ones: Basil Tofu, Olives-Walnut, and Peanut Butter-Apple. All of them were delicious, but the Basil Tofu was my favorite. It was so refreshing and smooth, and it was unlike anything I’d ever tasted before — not made out of tofu, anyway.

Organi Chiado has two different specials that change (I believe) every day, and on our first visit, we both couldn’t resist the Braised Tofu (served with lime rice, a side salad, and tempura veggie crisp). It was incredible! Hands down, the best food we’d had up to that point. And the prices were surprisingly reasonable, considering how fancy the place was.

We left feeling totally satisfied and made a mental note to come back to Chiado Organi soon. But guess what? The very next day, we went to another vegan restaurant that was a total disaster. We were so hungry and disappointed that we ran straight back to Organi to save the day! (This time around, again, we shared a larger order of the bread and pâtés; I did cheesy penne pasta; Jay the lasagna. And, too, we shared a pecan pie with house-made ice cream. O.M.G…!!!) And not only did it save us, but we also got to catch up with our friend from the day before, which was really nice.

Simply awesome!!!

Pros: Food!!!, Service!!!, Anbiance!!!

Cons: Loved it ALL…!!!

Big hearty healthy vegan feast!

Wow! The menu appears minimal but the plates that come out are not only packed full of plants but varied tastes and textures! We had the mango braised tofu which came with battered kale, rocket salad, rice and a wonderful slaw of carrot and seaweed! Then we finished with a cheesecake and coffee (Lisbon coffee is AMAZING!). Great value meal, top service and plant based goodness ! A must-visit for vegans in Lisbon!

Wunderbarlichkeit

Buenos sabores e ingredientes. El trato es muy atento. Fenomenal.

Great food. Nice decor

We ordered the caprese salad, pate plate and bread, carrot soup and the penne pasta. The pasta was amazing and the basil pate was our favorite. My husband loved the soup and I took the leftovers to the hotel for later.

I will definitely return when I am back in Lisbon.

Vegan Lasagne

I was there for a second time and again enjoyed it very much. I had the soup of the day (mushroom ...(don't remember)) and the juice of the day (fresh pear) and a lasagne. Only a little minus today: The lasagne could have been a little warmer.

Rather disappointing

We were looking forward to eating here on our trip to Lisbon and finally managed to eat here last night.

The food itself was all really fresh, and the ethos of sourcing locally, seasonally and sustainably is close to our hearts. We really wanted to love this place but were a little bit disappointing given the rating others have given it on HC.

We are very keen home cooks and while my partner said her Caesar salad was a great one, my lasagna was not as good as I do at home and while the hummus/tapanade starters were good, and came with lovely fresh bread, they lacked anything special to say they had been prepared to a higher standard than we make at home.

The service however, was immaculate, we couldn’t have asked for more attentive and genuinely interested and friendly servers.

Pros: Service, Caesar salad

Cons: Lacked a little bit of imagination

Healthy and filling meal

I had a really delicious lentil burger which came with rice and salad. It was fresh, healthy and also filling.
The restaurant has a very calm atmosphere and feels high class but the food isn’t expensive at all.
The waiter was very friendly and made me feel welcome. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal without feeling rushed. If I had more time in Lisbon I’d go back!

Pros: Relaxed, calm atmosphere, Welcoming staff, Delicious food

Top Quality Healthy Food

Outdoor dining on the steps is really a nice experience and tucked away from the crowds in Chiado. The Roasted vegetable quinoa salad was excellent!

Wholesome food!

I'm always on the lookout for complete vegan meals when travelling and this restaurant is pretty great for that! Their menu changes but it's all still really nice meals! I've been here twice and chose their tofu dishes that come with salad and rice.

decent dishes

Lovely spot with inviting outdoor seating right on the steps. With so many glowing reviews, expectations were high. The food was good, though not exceptional. We shared the Vegan Patés to start — a nice mix, ranging from okay to very good. For mains, we tried the Feijoada and the Tofu Thai. The tofu dish was a bit too salty, though the salad sauce on the side was delicious. The Feijoada was fine as well. Overall, a pleasant vegan experience, but not quite the showstopper we expected.

Pros: great outdoor seating

Light and fresh!

This was our first meal in Lisbon after a long day of travelling. We wanted something fresh and light and this fit the bill. We shared Spirit Tofu and guac with chips. The spirit tofu is a veganized version of a Portuguese dish and was very flavourful. Attentive staff, central location, outdoor seating. All fit the bill for what we were looking for.

Pros: Fresh and light food, Attentive staff, Outdoor seating

Location & dedication

Scratch made, not a ton of mains, but a lot of different flavors to choose from. We enjoyed the appetizer with different spreads and toast. The penne rigate dish had great (5*) flavor and I enjoyed the seitan steak with rice and salad (4*). Host was super friendly.

Pros: Robust pasta sauce with cheesiness, Fresh ingredients prepared well, Outdoor seating on the steps with a nice breeze

Wonderful evening in Lisbon

The location is wonderful and the personnel is super friendly. Loved the fact that the menu changes based on availability.
Everything we tried was very good (tofu and basil patè was incredibile). Compared to other places in Lisbon the price was super ok.
