Good, kinda limited options

I have been here three times. Their tofu is mildly seasoned and has some seaweed bits on it. You can pick three toppings, so I get tofu, edamame, and seaweed salad. I haven’t tried their kimchi topping yet. It sounds simple, but it’s yummy and I crave this place sometimes.

The first time I was here, I did the base as half greens and half rice, but some of the greens were bad, like, had some brown slimy bits on them. Could have been an off day but I have gotten the base as rice-only since then and I think it tastes better anyway, especially with the rice slightly warm and the rest of the toppings cold.

After you get your food, you can add sauce to it. I use their gluten free tamari sauce on what I order. I asked the guy working there which sauces were vegan and he looked at me like I was insane. I think he said they were all soy-based, but can’t remember for sure. Idk if he meant to imply like, “of course they are vegan” or didn’t know what I was talking about, or what, but, it felt weird. The cashier person knows which ingredients are vegan, and I think the vegan options are listed on the menu screen. You order a designated vegan bowl and then pick three of the only four vegan ingredients. There isn’t much variety coming back here, basically you’d have to just try different sauces I guess. But if you don’t like the existing vegan ingredients, there isn’t much else to try.

The best meal I had here was right after they opened. The ingredients seemed extra fresh and the rice was the perfect temperature.

Pros: It’s tasty

Cons: I kinda take issue with places that serve octopus.
