A true wonder - Edit

I am surprised that more people are not clamouring against the negative review below. From concept to realization, One World Spokane is a revelation; an inspiration.

They always have vegetarian and vegan options. They offer serving sizes based on your appetite and demands. They are extremely eco-friendly from the top down. The service is wonderful and attracts a celintele befitting an establishment with such altrusitic ambitions.

This restaurant gets four cows - and not 5 - by imposed restrictinos only. Visit and support One World Spokane.

Pros: Vision, Eco-friendly, Non-profit

bad food - Edit

This restaurant espouses good politics so i wanted to support them, but i ate there on two separate occasions and the food was just plain bad. On the first occasion the lentils in my main dish were not cooked nearly sufficiently. (Crunchy) The flavorings of the dishes were odd. The second time i had a potato dish and the potatoes were nearly raw and it tasted like someone had just dumped a bunch of curry powder in it. My wife, who is not vegan, had similar results with her dishes. Despite not having many vegan options in Spokane restaurant-wise i will not be going here again. the quality of the food is below par for soup kitchen.

Pros: good idea, progressive politics, pay what you feel it is worth

Cons: really bad food, paying anything is too much in my experi

oneworldspokane 22 Feb 2013 - Thank you for coming to try One World Community Kitchen. We have one paid position which is our chef and everyone else is volunteer. I really have no idea if some of the food served the day you were in, was no up to our standards or not, because you did not specify a date or discuss your concerns with us at the restaurant. Our volunteers try hard, but can't learn without feedback. We always strive to have great food, and if we fall short, we need to know, so we can make possible adjustments.
If your goal is to have vegan options in Spokane, then I would hope we could help to make that happen. Unfortunately you chose to make a negative comment in what I can only guess is your hope that others will not support one of the few vegan restaurants in our area. If you truly want us to be better then I hope you will talk to us directly.

Spokane Needed This! - Edit

I go here once a month and the menu is different every time, the staff is always wonderful and takes the time to tell you all the ingredients. I have never had a bad meal here, and they serve local meat sometimes which is good for when you are trying to expose meat-eaters to vegetarian food. If they have the cookies I recommend them highly, as well as the horseradish soup! You pay what you think the meal is worth or what you can, they will explain how it works but on average I spend $25 for two people.

Pros: Soups, Pizza, Cookies

Cons: Beverages, more of a variety
