Don't trust the menu

We ate at the Old Boundary on a Sunday night. 4 adults and 2 kids. We visit every time we come to Bendigo and my parents eat there for every celebratory meal. So we've been a few (!) times. Tonight we ordered 4 adult main courses, 3 entrees, 2 sides, 3 desserts and 2 kids meals, plus drinks for a total bill of $300. The menu says, "KIds eat free (on a Sunday), up to 2 kids meals per adult main meal". So, according to the menu, we should have been able to order 8 kids meals for free for 4 adult main meals. We ordered 2 kids meals to start but my son didn't like his, so we ordered another kids meal. Initially, staff said this would be included in the deal, but the waitress then told me the chef didn't agree and I needed to take it up with him. So I did, but apparently, what I was asking for, what was specified on their menu, wasn't "fair". I was only applying the rules according to their menu. So, after arguing with the chef for a few minutes, I paid for it. If they don't mean there are 2 kids meals free for every adult meal bought, then the menu should say that. And we'll never return.

Cons: Menu is misleading, The chef doesn't understand customer service, Average meals
