New "Vegan Special" incoming! - Edit
Many okonomiyaki shops in Hiroshima offer a "special" on the menu, featuring interesting ingredients or extra volume. Fuji will soon be offering two vegan versions of its popular okonomiyaki: a standard one with plenty of veggies and udon noodles, and a "vegan special" with thinner Chinese-style soba noodles (my preference) that includes vegan cheese, extra veggies such as crunchy "renkon" lotus root, and seasonal mushrooms. Both are delicious, but the special is next level!

How about some okonomiyaki before your next destination? - Edit
This is a small okonomiyaki restaurant in town, located 5 minutes walk from Tadanoumi Station. Many tourists visit Okunoshima, known as Rabbit Island, and we offer vegetarian okonomiyaki.The iron plate is the same as non-vegetarian okonomiyaki, but the owner wipes it clean before cooking. If you want a full meal, order a double soba. For a little extra money, you'll be satisfied.

Full flavored Okonomiyaki - Edit
My vegetarian companion tried the vegan okonomiyaki and said it was very delicious. It seems they only recently started offering vegan menu items. The staff were very friendly and I'm glad there's a restaurant like this. Although oden is not suitable for vegetarians as it is made with fish stock, I found the oden to be the tastiest dish.
