Beautiful location, food disappointing

I have eaten at this pub quite a few times in the last few months due to travelling in the area and have tried mostly all of their vegan options. The staff are always lovely and friendly. The scenery is beautiful, especially sitting out on the back deck. My only cons are with the menu.

I just haven't found the food to be particularly tasty. It feels like they have vegan options on the menu just because they need to be inclusive but haven't actually put thought into how those items taste. I think the options could be improved with very simple changes.

Firstly having more ingredients in the vegan burger and ensuring that the items listed on the menu are actually served in the burger. Also by using pizza bases that do not contain cheese for their regular pizzas. No hate to my GF friends but I don't necessarily want a GF pizza base as the only option just because the other bases contain cheese (not at all a necessary ingredient in pizza bases). Plus paying $4 for the GF base and vegan cheese on top of only having the option of a Large pizza feels a bit unfair.

The vegan burger is often a miss. The mushrooms aren't nicely cooked and tender. You get a piece of iceberg lettuce, relish and pickled vegetables (which in my experience is only ever picked onion). For the price you pay it is not comparable to the non-vegan/vego burgers. The menu says the the vegan burger comes with vegan cheese. However the first 2 times I had ordered it, the cheese was forgotten. So I asked the staff for some vegan cheese for my burger and both times I was given it still frozen. The 3rd and last time I ordered the burger I specifically asked for it to have vegan cheese when ordering to which the staff replied "It already has vegan cheese on it". Yet again, I was served a cheese-less burger.

The vegan schnitzel is made from creamy potato and peas. Nice but very greasy. I would recommend opting for the vegan parma instead so the tomato sauce balances it out a bit.

Overall, I'm glad there are some vegan options in such a small town. Always good to see but I found the menu a bit underwhelming.

Pros: Staff are helpful and friendly, Only place in Noojee with Vegan mains

Cons: Expensive, Limited options, Very basic food, not particularly tasty

Delicious!

Seriously one of the yummiest vegan pizzas I’ve ever eaten. I had the classic vegan and it was yum! Definitely didn’t skimp on toppings and it was tasty!
On my experience today, I would give this pub 5 stars if I could. I will definitely be back to work my way through the menu! #Veganuary

Pros: Decent sized vegan menu, Beautiful location , Delicious pizza

Vegan pizza was basic but delicious. Very accomodating staff!

The roasted tomato and onion pizza was pretty basic, but delicious! The vegan option even comes with vegan cheese (I was pleasantly surprised given that it’s a rural country pub). The staff were very helpful and accomodating, and were able to adapt a Specials Board pasta option to make it vegan for me. They even came back out and asked if I wanted vegan cheese on top! It was very tasty😄

Pros: Very accomodating (can adapt meals to make vegan), Delicious options (good vegan cheese available), Beautiful location and views

Cons: Very limited options
