Portions were really large! Easily 2-3 meals each. I liked the coconut salmon dish but my boyfriend was not a huge fan of the meat substitute on the bandera plate. Was kinda spongy/chewy and not super flavorful. The vegan salmon was very realistic though and the sauce was good

What I thought was a vegan business ended up being a Judas - Edit
I was following them on social media and suddenly started seeing images of seafood, not vegan seafood, but real dead animals they're telling you are delicious.

This tells us they were only ever capitalizing on veganism, and animal liberation was never part of their mission.

NSV is now using the vegan platform to promote dead animals as part of their expanding business. They have a total disregard for veganism, making a mockery of what so many of us hold so dear to our hearts. They are not vegan but solely looking to profit from the community.

I think your review is harsh and unfair. Have you eaten there? NSV in Downtown Brooklyn remains vegan and has been serving their incredible food for years. Sotte, this new business that's fusion seafood and plant-based was previously Next Stop Vegan but closed last year. So many fantastic vegan spots in Greenpoint are gone now! While I prioritize all-vegan establishments, I feel like this partnership maintains their integrity, and hopefully can attract some skeptics!

It is not a partnership, it is the same owners. And it is Next Step Vegan using their platform to promote dead animals as delicious.
It throws their integrity out the window, and will only lead them to profit more from the suffering of animals.
You conveniently fail to mention the other videos with horse back riding posted by Next Step Vegans social media. I'll add another one so people don't get fooled by your lame try of a cover up.

Good spot for some Puerto Rican or Dominican inspired meals - Edit
Nice decor and friendly service. We came here for some interesting Caribbean food. We had the alcapurrias, side of sweet plantains and Sancocho. I’m not a fan of deeply fried food and so wasn’t partial to alcapurrias but loved the Sancocho and plantains. Everything was flavorful.

Plenty of Parking garages all within 5 minutes of walk to restaurant. The staff so friendly and accommodating. Also checking in to see if we were satisfied and needed anything. The main course was BIG portion, definitely filling and lots of flavor. Coming from NJ and will be back.

Came by for lunch and was impressed by the food and the portions! Thought it was a bit pricey, but the portion size easily made up for it. Burger was good and came with a small soup.

I went here for the first time on Valentine's Day. It was a little packed in there but that just told me that a lot of people liked their food. Atmosphere was nice and staff was really friendly. I love a fully vegan menu. I got a good helping of food as well. So I was fluffed and stuffed. My boyfriend (omnivore) picked this restaurant and said that this is the most flavorful vegan restaurant he has gone to. We both loved the food and would absolutely come back.

This place used to be an absolute favorite but it has been steadily declining for the last year. Service gets slower and food is less consistent. Constant menu changes are not only disappointing but take the place of amazing dishes. Empanadas are great if you can get there when they have them.

Wrong empanada AGAIN - Edit
When I go here I get the empanadas. The lunch special used to be 3 empanadas for $9.99 sauce included. Then it was 3 empanadas for $9.99 and $1 for the sauce. Today I was told it’s 2 empanadas for $8 and the sauce was included. I was okay with the change until I got to my desk expecting a pizza empanada I ordered but was surprised with faux chicken one. Very annoying and they’ve done this before. As far as the empanadas, they need a better system to make sure people are getting what they ordered. Especially since you can’t tell what’s inside the empanada until you take a bite.

We got the birria tacos and La Bandera plate to share. The broth with the tacos was very tasty and had a slight kick to it. Everything was very flavorful. We definitely want to come back to try more of their menu. Also beware, the portions are pretty big here.

I’m not trying to over rate this restaurant but it is my absolute favorite in the city. The food is 100/10!! I feel at home eating there and every season there’s a new menu. Definitely go and check them out. Favorites? The satisfaction, the sancocho, mofongo, empanadas, chofan… damn, everything!!!
