Gemütlich - Edit
Das Café lädt zu einer kleinen Pause ein. Neben ein paar Snacks gibt es auch Cappuccino oder Latte Macciato mit Hafermilch auf Wunsch.

Vegan Wrap - Edit
We had the vegan Wraps and Cappuccino with Oatly oat milk. Since we were late there weren’t more vegan options anymore. But it was really delicious and we were asked if vegan is just preference or due to Allergie. That’s really nice because they really care (guess it’s to make sure they change gloves or other stuff to not kill you 😅). And it’s dog friendly! You can take your dog inside the visitor center and cafe.

National trust in NI cannot be beaten.
Read moreGet yourself a membership if you can - especially if hitting the north coast. You will save yourself a load of money.
Ah the causeway visitor centre. Busier than most airports in major cities at peak times.
I remember going here as a lad, with the museum bit that had "BASALT" written on a large sign over it.
In the modern era, the NT won the bidding war to get this place against DUP satellite Sweeny.
The only controversy was the installation of a sign to pander to aggressive American style evangelicals that sadly still do a roaring trade around these parts. So next to the detailed signs displaying the science, one that said "some people think God created it as it is" - lol. Watch Dan McClellans YT vids if that's you 😇
Also if you do join the trust - and I do reccomend it heartily - please get active in it and voting against the "anti woke" so called "restore trust" brigade, who are trying to do a putsch to stop the trust apologizing and doing interpretation boards about big house owners who were made rich by the slave trade, and who also have an axe to grind against the scones being fully vegan.
Also get yourself a scone! Nothing better!
There are vegan options here, namely a falafel wrap that they can warm up as well as a cauli curry pasty and chickpea roll, tucked away at the top, just use the green tongs to put them in a bag and go up and pay. The pasty is nice but slightly salty. However it is reasonably priced.
Speaking of that, you queue up, get a tray, but the queuing system isn't great and I have had many people push in front of me, which is irritating.
You can get coffees and teas - reccomend Earl grey.
Note you bus your own tray and they have recycling and compost bins as well as the general waste bin 😁
The centre itself has toilets, which are worth the admission alone, as otherwise the free ones are a big queue. Some museumy stuff, a cool film displaying the finn legend, and a big shop for tourist trinkets, but that's it.
Again you get in free if a member. You also can ride the shuttle bus free if NT member and get audio guides or on the guided tour!

Reasonably priced and good vegan options - Edit
We had the falafel wrap and the cauliflower curry pasty and both were great. If you're cold though and need to warm up, the curry pasty is 11/10 good 👌

Possibility to have coffee with oatmilk or soymilk. She asked us if it was because of allergies or just preference. To see if she had to change her gloves.
Read moreAlso a vegan falafel wrap and a cauliflower pastry. I didn't try the wrap. But the pastry was delicious! 10/10. There was also a curried chickpea roll but this wasn't vegan.
Staff knew the ingrediënts of the food they offered when I asked them. They had no vegan pastries at the moment.
