Good breakfast/lunch spot for mixed diners

I always order the breakfast taco with mushrooms, onions, avocado, and home fries. They serve it with a side of fresh salsa. $6. One is enough for me and I have a decent sized appetite. Sometimes I get their coffee too. Community Coffee, I believe. Big taco, diner style coffee, and consistently good. Servers are friendly. Great place to go with Omnivores. Lots yummy non-vegan options.

Fine in a pinch

No longer have tofu scramble or other vegan options available - server said they didn’t sell well and were removed. Some things are modifiable - I got avocado toast without eggs or cheese, seem to have some vegan friendly sides. Apparently typically have oat milk but were out when I went. Beautiful space, friendly service.

Pros: Beautiful space, Decent prices

Cons: Not many options

Avocado Toast!

I always get the avocado toast with no egg and they don’t mess about with the amount of avoacdo.

Pros: Great service and atmosphere, Decent prices, Good sized portions

Cons: I wish they had more vegan options

Vegan options!

We had Easter breakfast at Monument Cafe in Georgetown. I got so lucky with the waitress (Kat) who is also vegan. She helped me create a delicious vegan meal. It was scrumptious! They even had soy milk and raw sugar for my coffee. If you find yourself at this very popular Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives spot know that you can eat!

Pros: Knowledgable vegan staff , Soy milk, Raw sugar

Veg friendly

Their vegan options are not displayed on the menu but when in doubt ask management. Felt at ease once I had someone who was also vegan and gave great recommendations on food.

Tofu Scramble with sriracha and sourdough with peach jam was delicious, practically cleaned my plate.

Pros: Helpful management

Vegan Friendly

Full disclosure I am a manager at the cafe (50% of the management here is Vegan) - we always offer Vegan options! Tofu scramble for breakfast, salads with vegan protein options, and our veggie burger is vegan (without the cheese or spread).

Pros: Vegan options, Gluten free options, Well trained staff

Classic

Whenever I walk into Monument Café I feel like I’ve gone back in time a little bit. They have an amazing little “farmers market” connected to the restaurant that sells fresh produce and cute little gifts as well.

Inconsistency

6-7 years ago this was THE place to eat in Georgetown, however inconsistency with the food quality was its downfall. You could order the same dish and depending who was cooking that day determined what your meal would look or taste like. The fact that the decor looks like a diner from the 1940s and now it closes at 3pm lets you know they're just catering to the Sun City people and tourists.

Pros: nice atmosphere

Cons: veggie burger was a pile of mush.

Room for Improvement

Food was expensive and the only vegan offerings available at that time were cold boiled vegetables.

Pros: location

Cons: few options, expensive

not vegan friendly

I didn't find the breakfast options to be vegan friendly at all. Won't return.

Neat place to see- not a lot for vegans

Very neat place to see. Menu in restaurant didn't have a lot for vegans, but the market next door had a few things. Great garden outside.

Great place!

I found this restaurant after I saw it on Diners, Drive In and Dives. So happy it's here. They have a great little market next store and veggie options for me, and other options for my husband and friends.

pretty disappointed

My husband and I both got the their home made veggie burger on gluten-free bread. Except for them being extremely spicy, they were quite bland and mushy like raw meat. Even though we were starving, not having eaten in over 7 hours, I couldn't eat any of mine and my husband managed to eat half of his. Also, we ordered a kale citrus salad that listed the ingredients as kale, citrus, mint and garlic but when it came I was told it had Caesar dressing with anchovies. Of course we had to send it back. On a good note, the wait staff was very friendly and courteous.

Pros: friendly wait staff

Cons: veggie burgers were not good, not the correct ingredients listed

NOT FOR VEGANS!!!!

Could not be more disappointed! Drove quite a ways with my entire family for this place based upon the description found on HappyCow that says has vegetarian options, some in which can be made vegan. WRONG! This was honestly probably one of the worst places I have personally ever been to in regards to not only not having no meatless options but eggless options either leaving literally 1 single option and that's a bowl of lettuce. Even their fruit salad is whipped in cream containing of dairy milk and every single bread in the entire place has eggs in the dough. Every single one of them. All the staff is clueless beyond belief about what a vegetarian is, never-the-less a vegan....
