A very average Indian restaurant with few vegan options. - Edit
We went to this place as it was rated the top restaurant in Aberdeen on Tripadvisor. We had high expectations. Honestly, I think the trip advisor reviews must be fake, they have over a thousand more than the next most reviewed place, and seem to get multiple 5 star reviews every day.
Read moreWe booked the restaurant on a Saturday night. It was almost empty despite being normal dinner time (7pm). Maybe a couple of other tables and a couple more came in while we were eating. Not even sure if it was even 1/4 a full during our visit.
There was one only curry labelled vegan on the menu. There were a few veg sides which could be a main which I think were mostly vegan, but these weren’t labelled so I had to ask. I had the vegan curry (I think it was the South Indian curry or something ) and had a potato side as well. The presentation of the starters (I can’t remember what we had) was lovely and it did give a sense of prestige as it looked quite nice. However the actual flavours and food quality were very average. I didn’t really enjoy my curry and we were both overall disappointed and quite surprised at the thousands of raving reviews on tripadvisor. I’m also not overly keen on places that don’t make it clear which dishes are vegan.
Overall, there are better Indian restaurants out there. I did try to add one on here - one next to Aldi near foresterhill - but happy cow wouldn’t allow it for some reason.
Don’t waste your time here unless you don’t appreciate good curry.

Eigentlich nur eine vegane Option auf der Karte, nach Rücksprache konnten aber andere Speisen veganisiert werden. Achtung, jede Kleinigkeit kostet extra (z B. der Reis zum Hauptgericht)!

Plenty of vegan options. The food is perfect - spicy but beautifully flavoursome (not just chilli!) Very pleasant staff.

I liked the atmosphere and the food was quite delicious. The service was alright and there are a few vegan choices and some other that can be veganised. Also nice that they have tofu for a protein option, which not many Indian restaurants would have. However, they kind of over-charged for little things without clearly informing such as poppadom and condiments.
