Amazing! - Edit
So many vegan options and vegetarian dishes that can be made vegan on request. Awesome and accommodating staff and chef. Yummy bean burrito and veggie full English breakfast. Will be back again tomorrow I'm sure!

Super endroit où manger et prendre un verre, avec terrasse et options véganes. Burger « infinity » avec la viande végétale Beyond Meat, il suffit de demander sans fromage et c’est végane. Le burger est vraiment excellent!

Vegan not so satisfying - Edit
The staff was well informed about vegan options and helpful, but vegan just meant leaving away non vegan items from vegetarian dishes. So quesedilla without cheese, or the beyond burger without cheese, mayonaise and bread. This made a rather sad looking plate. A vegan burger bun would not be such a big additional effort, I'd guess.

Tacos & Mezcal! - Edit
Great hang out spot with some super tasty Mexican inspired dishes for non-meat eaters (and the flexitarians). Really nice local scene in the evening often with music. Friendly staff were happy to adapt dishes to be vegan/veggie where possible. The tacos are killer!

Monkey - Edit
The “Mexican” food and drinks were very inauthentic with strange flavors. My food was generally covered in a thick tomato paste with hot sauce and the green/red sauces were full of a lot of vinegar. The cauliflower dish was OK, but slightly overcooked. The potatoes were covered in that tomato paste I mentioned above and tasted more like spaghetti sauce potatoes. I would not eat here again.

Nice Lunch Place - Edit
I was really excited to try Monkey because I saw the Crispy Cauliflower Burrito. I was somewhat disappointed because the crispy cauliflower was really cauliflower that had cornmeal stuffed in its nooks and crannies and it was still crunchy/raw. I suppose I was expecting a roasted or fried cauliflower. It was decent but not what I had expected. The biggest win was trying Big Mountain Brewing Company's IPAs here. Delicious!

Not so great Vegan burger - Edit
Head a lot of good things about this place. So went and tried their Vegan burger. The Vegan bun was terrible - almost like rubber, and the bean patty was dry and very bland. The cost was expensive and so I was expecting fries on the side. That was not the case. Disappointed. Don't think I'll go here again if I'm in Chamonix.

bit disappointed - Edit
i had the vegan burger which was okay but not amazing. it was quite dry and lacked some flavour. it was also extremely expensive as 1 takeout burrito and burger came to €27. the person that served me behind the bar was quite rude and i dont think ill be back again. however there did seem to be an overall good vibe and the place seemed laidback.

Very tasty! - Edit
The description on Happy Cow does not match the venue at all. It's all Mexican food with several vegan options. I had the burger which was amazing. You could tell the patty was homemade with loads of beans and plenty of flavour. The chilli was also really good. The desert with vegan marshmallows was a real find!

They have a fair few vegan options. Salad was dressed in much sherry vinegar and far too strong.

Good vegan options - Edit
We went with the kids early evening. Not busy. So refreshing to find vegan options in this part of the world. We had bean burgers and some starters. All very tasty. Nice location in a quite square with stunning views. The dog was looked after but later in the evening I don't think they're allowed inside. Friendly staff. Would come again.

Alright - Edit
I had the mashed black bean burger, which wasn't very flavorful but was still alright. We wanted smoked tofu, but they were out of tofu. I was also looking forward to the peanut butter brownie for dessert (which was their only vegan dessert) but they were out of that too. I would not recommend going to this restaurant since they could be out of many things that you want to eat.

Slightly disappointing - Edit
I visited recently to take advantage of the half price burgers on Mondays. We ordered the 2 vegan options but were told there were no vegan buns so they would be served without a bun.
Read moreThis was pretty disappointing considering we were ordering early in the evening and there are plenty of shops in the vicinity selling buns (we went and bought some while the food was being cooked so we could make a burger.)
They were both tasty but I would say quite overpriced even for Chamonix so definitely best if vegan to go on the Monday and hope they have buns.
Pros: Friendly service, Tasty burgers
Cons: Lack of buns, Price

Delicious casual food with clearly labeled vegan options (and more than one!). They didn't have vegan buns on our visit but they made the Mowgli burger into a great vegan wrap instead! (They understood that not all bread is vegan and gave us good alternatives - amazing!!)

lots of vegan options - Edit
I went to Monkey with my family and was surprised by how many vegan options they had. They were all clearly labelled and there even was a vegan dessert. I ordered the Moguli burger that you could get made vegan as specified on the menu. The burger was very nice and massive and I also had sweet potato fries which were crispy but so delicious. The meal wasn't cheap but for nice vegan food in a ski resort it was a good deal.

Monkey heaven - Edit
This is a great find and would highly recommend Monkey to any veggie looking for a decent vegetarian meal which is hard to come by on the tourist strip in Chamonoix. Great vibe and staff with incredible friendly. Appears to be British owned/managed. Just sad I found it on my last day here!
