No More Vegan Menu :( - Edit
The previous review mentions that this restaurant has a vegan menu with vegan cheese and meats. But unfortunately, that seems to be outdated now. When I went, they did not have a vegan menu or vegan substitutions for cheese and meats. There were plenty of clearly marked vegetarian options on the menu though so you could get those without cheese. My mom and I shared the Mediterranean salad, baked cauliflower, and baked Mediterranean pasta without cheese. The food was very authentic and reminded us of the food we ate when we went to Italy. If you’re looking for a healthy and vegetably meal, this place would be perfect! But if you’re more in the mood for vegan junk food, it’s better to go to a place that has vegan substitutions.

When the moon hits yr eye like a big pizza pie, that's Modena. - Edit
I’ve hit Modena a few times already bc they put more thought into their vegan options than most places. Daiya? Nah! They use Selfish Cow cheese + Before the Butcher pepperoni. The downside is the pepperoni is so expensive, they won’t make a large pizza with it.
Read moreThe online vegan menu is limited to 10” or 12” pizzas + salads + desserts, but large pizzas + calzones + grinders + pastas can also be made vegan. They use Essential Baking Co baguettes (Superfree Bakehouse for gf folks) + imported Italian pasta, all of which are vegan. The vegan desserts are made by Superfree Bakehouse + they’ll heat up the brownie if you’re dining in.
I regret adding veggies to the pepperoni pizza bc it didn’t allow the pepperoni to shine, so it wasn’t worth the price. I don't regret upgrading to the garlic crust tho, yum. The calzone was sadly limp + a little undercooked on the inside. The rustic Mediterranean grinder was good + big enough for 2. The Italian salad was great. Next time I'll add croutons.

Pros: premium ingredients, family-owned, friendly
Cons: weird location, vegan menu needs work

What do you mean by weird location?

I wanted to say "strip mall vibes," but my partner cringed + suggested "weird location." Oops? Nothing to be sketched out about.
