Very Tasty Vegan Pastries! - Edit
Model Bakery is a small independent bakery and is well known for 'Kurmang's Spicy Kurdish Pasties', which they offer vegan and meat versions of. There are two vegan savoury options on the menu and two vegan desserts in addition to fresh bread. I had the Vegan Red Thai Butternut Squash Slice and Vegan Apricot, Orange & Almond Slice, and both were scrumptious. The owner is very well informed on veganism and also shared that he has vegan family members. I will definitely be returning soon for a Spicy Kurdish Pasty!
Read moreEdit: I returned for a Kurdish pasty, and the lovely owner remembered me from my previous visit. The pasty was spicy and divine and was full to the brim. I recommend this unique bakery to vegans who around Blaenau Ffestiniog, but as previous reviews have mentioned, you'll need to get there as soon after their opening time as possible!

Superb vegan pasties and cakes - Edit
I've enjoyed both their normal vegan pasties and their Kurdish versions and would recommend making a diversion to buy some. Call first to reserve yours because they easily sell out!

Local bakery - Edit
Great little find, just a short walk from the train station, so you’ve plenty of time to grab a bite to take away during the short rest stop before the train heads back to Porthmadog. I had the butternut and coconut veg puff pastry slice, with an orange and almond slice to follow. Both delicious!
