Serves meat, vegan options available. Small, inexpensive to moderate priced menu based on the local quinoa. Ask what is vegan - usually the soup and the burger as well as a few other things. No Wi-Fi; just conversation. The shop is actually a van converted into kitchen with a open area for relaxing, and a tree-house made with bamboo just beside it. Open Mon 12:00pm-7:30pm, Wed-Sun 12:00pm-7:30pm.

Good food and vegan options but could be better

Visited here with my mum, girlfriend and her mum. We all the quinoa soup for starters which was very tasty and I had the sautéed vegetables and my girlfriend had a burger for our main course. My food was tasty if a little over salted the portion sizes were good and the service was pretty quick. The burger does not come with anything at all and when my girlfriend asked if she could have a side salad he said it would be an extra dollar for the salad. The burger is amazing especially with the BBQ sauce which is made with chocolate (which you can buy at the chocolate store down one of the streets on the other side of the main square) the food is good but overpriced for what it is and if you only have time to visit one place I think there are better vegan options around.

Pros: Great BBQ SAUCE, Fast service , Gave free tasters and was friendly

Cons: Overpriced for Ecuador, Limited vegan options

Awful no stars

I've been treated horrible in this place more than once. I liked their quinoa soup the first time, eventhough the owner was kind of ignoring us the first time and being super friendly with other table. My husband wanted to try the soup. We were with my rescue doggie and he looked at her like disgusted and told us to go out. PET UNFRIENDLY. Then I asked if the bun on the burger was vegan and he was bothered by the question he answered that only vegan things were marked and that the burger isn't. NOT SO VEGAN FRIENDLY. We ordered a soup to share and 2 burgers (b/c then he changed his answer about the bin and said it is vegan). When I went to the bathroom my husband asked if they had WIFI the guy answered very rude "we don't have WIFI or Coke". Honestly we should have left by then but my husband told me this last incident, after the owner forgot my "vegan burger". The soup wasn't as good as I remembered so this place worths nothing. Is the only unfriendly place in all Mindo.

Cons: Bad food, terrible crew, ridiculously small tables

good fast food place

I have been there twice for a burger. Even though I am still not sure if the burger bread is really 100% vegan. I like their quinoa burgers too much. The chocolate bbq sauce is amazing.
The atmosphere is a bit strange but the service really fast.

Pros: fast, cheap

Cons: bread?

Homemade Quinoa Burgers

Fully vegetarian restaurant with vegan opinions. We had delicious Quinoa burgers with homemade cacao BBQ sauce and red cabbage salad with passionfruit dressing - yummy!! You can buy the cacao BBQ sauce / cocao honey sauce to take it home. They also offer delicious homemade ice cream, e. g. rum and raisin. I also like the decor.

Pros: Fresh homemade food, good value, friendly owners.

Cons: None.

Gem on the main square

Delicious! We were looking for a truck but found that they have moved into a building. There were so many choices for vegetarians and vegans, so it was quite refreshing. The flavors were unique especially the homemade cacao ‘honey’. We enjoyed a wonderful conversation with one of the owners who gave us samplings of the cacao liquor. He spoke Spanish with us but clearly speaks English very well too. And some evenings they do bonfires next-door where the truck used to be parked. This spot stands out among a bunch of restaurants who are still trying to find their identity in Mindi. There are places trying to do traditional Ecuadorian cuisine but still throw pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers on the menus thinking it will attract tourists. Quality wins every time!

Pros: Nutritious , Flavorful , Unique beer selection

Cons: Out of stock on some of the beer

What I needed!

After a long hike to a nearby waterfall, I was so happy to stumble upon Mishqui Quinde! The place is the cutest little shop/restsaurant. The storefront is an old volkswagen van with eyelashes on.

I got their vegan burger with their homemade, vegan chocolate bbq sauce and their passionfruit sorbet. They had their bbq sauce for sale so I took one home with me! The owners (husband and wife) were super nice and even let me film them preparing my vegan burger for my vlog on YouTube.

Definitely recommend! Would give 5 stars (but gave 4 b/c rating system)!

Pros: Friendly owners/cook, Ambience, Food is delicious

Such a beautiful sweet Alkaline food shop!`

I visited Mindo for about a week or so and really hoped to find somewhere that would at least have some type of half decent veg options to eat. I stumbled across this wonderfully quirky and unique shop, They offer all kinds of Vegan, Raw foods and Veg option even meat option too if you wanna do that... All of the vegan options are fully plant-based foods! Most of the ingredients are even sourced locally in the area as Ecuador has such an amazing produce to offer! all the vegan foods are Alkaline too which is very important as they offer the highest and most nutrients that are important for our health and wellbeing! They offer so many vegaan, plant-based deserts too! Such as full whole foods plant-based cakes, freshly dried fruit snack and Alkaline juice drinks created with all of these amazing fruits, nuts, and veggies that grow in Ecuador

Really would recommend! Actually made my week being here!

Pros: lovely Kind owner who has a knowledge of all vegan, None honestly , Lovely Fresh wide selection of fruit and foods

Cons: Again none!

Seriously good burgers and salad

This is not the name nor the location!! Cafe is called Mishqui Quinde Sweet Hummingbird and it's next to Bio Mindo. Search for Mishqui Quinde Heladería in Google maps.

Food made with real love. Excellent understanding of vegan. Inventive and fresh vegan sorbet (staff recommended passion fruit and chilli flakes). Make sure you order a side with your burger.

Pros: heaven for vegans in this small town. Everything i

Cons: Limited menu. Cakes are not vegan. No wi-fi.

Creative and tasty vegan and gluten free options

Visited this open air restaurant on our last day in town. Sorry to miss out on the opportunity to eat here again, and try other menu items. We enjoyed the veggie quinoa soup and quinoa pudding with blackberry and passion fruit sorbet. Both were excellent! Friendly owners. Entire menu based on quinoa.
