Peaceful - Edit
A lovely vegetarian restaurant, with vegan options. It's down a quiet road, near the busy are in central Hue. Very peaceful dining experience.
Read moreWe tried the Burger and Grilled Cheese, with onion rings. Vegan cheese is available, although we did not ask if the grilled cheese could be made with it, but this was an option for the burger.
Both tasty and enjoyable. Friendly staff and good music. It was 80s classics when we were there.

Hidden Gem - Edit
We have eaten at more expensive and higher rated restaurants throughout Vietnam, and have often been disappointed.
Read moreMingle, however, is a star. Excellent food, with friendly staff, and a quiet outdoor garden space for dinning. Nothing fancy, just excellent food at reasonable prices. And we thought the Bahn Mi was the best we have ever had.
We’ve been there twice, and will be back again.

cute place and tasty desserts - Edit
We went there for eating desserts and tried the mango sticky rice and the banana dippers(55.000 dong each). Both very good. The mango was so tasty it could have been a little bit more on the plate. Very cute and calm place to enjoy good food.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR VEGAN - Edit
I didn’t even make it to the meal. The waitress, despite using a translator, couldn’t clearly explain what was vegan and what wasn’t. First she said that the burgers and falafel were not vegan, then she said it was, then again no. We also asked if dishes could be modified as stated on the menu—she initially said yes, but when I double-checked, she said no. Overall, very confusing experience and strongly not recommended for vegans.

Returned many times! Staff are exceptional and food is fresh and delicious - Edit
We came back to the Mingle Cafe even after a torrential thunderstorm after Typhoon Kajiki! The staff were so lovely and helped us move inside and then checked we would get back to our accommodation safely. They are very knowledgable about which meals are vegan, and offer yummy vegan desserts (like the banana pancake). I would seriously recommend the Vietnamese Yellow curry and the mango/passion/pineapple smoothie bowl (forgot what it was called, but it was yummy and very fresh). The coffee is also strong and very good!
Read moreThe courtyard where the cafe is is very pretty and peaceful, and the fans keep mozzies away. It’s a little off the beaten track but it’s worth it. I’m not sure HappyCow says but you can also eat inside here and the courtyard is covered from rain.
100% would recommend. I’d say their food and service were exceptional, contrary to some other reviewers here.
Pros: Lovely staff, Yummy food, Can veganise most of the menu
Cons: It’s not all vegan

Molt bo! - Edit
Hem esmorzat aquí i la veritat és que tot estava molt bo. Els smothies freds jan anat molt bé per passar la calor. Hem menjat els pancakes de plàtan i boníssim. Recomanable! A més a més amb moltes opcions veganes.

Nothing special - Edit
We came here a couple of times, not because it was especially good but because it was close to our Homestay, served some vegan desserts and other vegan options in the area had left a lot to be desired.
Read moreWe tried the Vietnamese yellow curry (just alright), pumpkin and tempeh clay pot (we didn’t like the flavour), pho and Bahn mi (both nice but definitely not the best we’ve had) and smoothie bowls (which were beautiful presented and again nice but nowhere near the best we’ve had). Banana and peanut pancakes were more like scones than pancakes but were pretty good! Desserts we tried were the tapioca cake, mango sticky rice and banana fritters. All were pretty nice but nothing special.

Good food, service could be improved - Edit
The beans in my curry were hard/ undercooked (which can cause illness). At first the kitchen refuted this, however eventually they agreed to let me order another meal. This was frustrating however the rest of the food was delicious.

Weiter so!

Food yes, smoothie no - Edit
Lovely inner city garden where the noise drowns down.
Read moreThe smoothie with peanut butter, banana, protein powder and oat milk was a big disappointment. There was not much flavour, very watery. The ratio of ice vs all the yummy ingredients was very out of balance.
This made us wary of the food. Fortunately the food was good! The Thai green curry was especially satisfying.

Waffeln nicht zu empfehlen, Früstück sehr lecker! - Edit
Das Früchte frühstück war sehr gesund und lecker, als Nachtisch die Waffeln jedoch leider viel zu trocken und echt nicht gut.

Hidden gem with great food - Edit
Located in one of the back alleys of Hué Old Town, a quiet place in a lovely garden. Went there for dinner two nights in a row because the food was so good and affordable (especially the wide selection of drinks, which seems to be rare in vietnam). Especially the Papaya Salad was so amazing, we ordered it two nights in a row. However, there was some confusion with our order and they served us a green curry. As we didn't mind and didn't want any food to be thrown out, we decided to give it a try and it turned out to be delicious as well. They still gave us a free fruit salad for desert to make up for the mishap with very tasty dragon fruit, mango and banana. Other dishes we tried were the bao bun with mushrooms, the mini banh mi, the tumeric vermicelli stirfry and the morning glory with fried rice. Everything tasted great - even the fries that came with the bao - was made with fresh ingredients, nicely arranged and the staff is very quick and friendly. Also it is very affordable and the portions are quite generous.

Bland, bland, bland - Edit
We were excited for this place following the hype here on HC! Bit of a let down though.. Falafel burrito was incredibly bland and the pina colada was unexpectedly frozen (🤯). Falafel salad and the chips were fine (can’t get a salad too wrong). Nice enough restaurant, nice staff - overall, considering the price (pretty expensive) it was a big let down for us.
Read moreEdit: Foolishly went back for breakfast. The porridge was just so bland! The kitchen here needs to add some flavour, please! 80k for some cheap, watery porridge with a bit of fruit on it - come on. Oat milk latte was bland and watery. Everything just tasted cheap and bland.
