Nothing prepared me for this food experience!

If you don't like peace and quiet, don't come here. If you just hate plants and birds all around you, avoid this place. If feeling welcomed by the community is just not your thing, keep to the cities. If all natural vegan farm-to-table gourmet-level cooking sounds horrible, then this won't be in your liking. If majestic sunsets just sound overbearing, stay on the flats. If like me, however, all these things are what you want, come experience them at Mel's Botanical Retreat and Mel's Farm-To-Table Kitchen in the cute little mountain village of Kentucky, Westmoreland, Jamaica. I took both the Culinary Arts class and the Coffee Farm Tour/Roasting Experience. Both were amazing. I stayed at the retreat much longer than I planned and it changed me forever. Consider yourself warned, it may change you too!

Natural Mystic

In many years of traveling , no place has ever felt as magical and comfortable as Mel’s Botanical Retreat. The food is amazing; fruit, and juices, and smoothies and amazing vegan meals. Much of the food was grown on site by Mel or procured from neighboring growers. It’s the most true Jamaican experience where I was made to feel so perfectly at home and so supremely in awe of the flavors, the environment, and the hospitality. If you want to get away from the beaten path and have meals and memories to cherish a lifetime, do yourself a favor and go this amazing place.

Pros: Ambiance, Food, Hospitality

Cons: Remote
