No vegan options for months...

I visited their Castle Hill location in May and was super excited to try one of their highly recommended vegan burgers. Unfortunately once we were arrived they informed us they had no vegan options on the menu as they had run out of stock and wouldn't be getting more until July!

Their CBD location may be more organised but may be best to call and double check...

Pros: Good looking menu with lots of vegan options

Cons: Double check they have the vegan options in stock!

Strong Option for Sydney CBD

Thought I’d starve while staying in Sydney after multiple ‘vegan’ restaurant menus had butter and paneer on the menu. Mary saved me, the burgers were awesome, staff were cool and drinks good value. If you are in the CBD area for work or holiday this could be your saviour.

Great find

Super chill place when I stopped in for a quick feed at 6pm on a Saturday. I had the vegan cheeseburger which was so good, and the fries were hot and crispy. I only wish I lived in Sydney so I could come back regularly!

Pros: Vegan options clearly labelled

Amazing cauliflower burger!!!

I was super surprised to have such an indulging burger from here. Battered cauliflower was very good. Quite small and expensive for what it was but was worth it.

Best Burger in Town !!

I had the Mary‘s Burger 4 years ago already and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I literally talked about this burger 100 times before we came back to Sydney ! It’s still amazing! I personally think it tastes a bit like the real cheeseburger from McDonald’s. It’s so juicy and yummy ! I have to say that the vegan options are more expensive than the regular burgers. The Mary’s costs 26$ instead of 22$. Also for my personal taste the fries are a little too salty. But my friends loved this 😅 enjoy !!!

Pros: Best Burger in town !, So juicy 🤤, Quite unique bar

Cons: Vegan options are more expensive than regular , Music is a bit loud , Fries very salty

Great burgers

Close to Circular Quay, Mary’s have a few delicious vegan burger options and southern fried cauliflower.
Gets very busy - recommend booking in advance

How cheeseburgers should be

The Newtown venue is a cool spot to go to but don’t expect to be able to hear each other very well as the music is always pumping. I’ve had both the vegan Mary’s burger and cheeseburger but I personally always re-order the cheeseburger. Before being vegan a cheeseburger was always my go to so you can trust me when I say Mary’s vegan version is good. The cauliflower bites are pricey but do taste good.

Pros: Atmosphere, Cheeseburger , Crunchy maccas like fries

Cool venue

Great vegan options with some tasty drinks too, great for craft beer folks. Mary's patty similar on taste to a big Mac, chicken cauliflower burger was excellent. Nice skinny fries too .

Good burgers, good food!

A cool bar with a nice atmosphere. A great place for a chilled out burger and beer! I had the fake chicken burger (which was a cauliflower burger that other reviews have mentioned) which was really good. That came with a generous portion of sides so couldn’t complain about that. Good options as well because most burgers on the menu can be made vegan.

Pros: Good burgers, Plenty of options , Nice chilled out bar

Vegan burgers

Great burgers and plenty of options on the menu! Service was good and the bar had a nice atmosphere! We went on a Thursday night and it was still quite busy in there!

Vegan

Had the vegan cheese burger. It's not the best vegan burger I've eaten but bonus points for making their own patties and not using beyond meat. The fries were amazing and were served with a range of dipping sauces including a vegan mayo. Would definitely go back again to try the cauliflower as everyone suggests

Pros: Every burger can be made vegan, They make their own patties (don't use beyond)

Cons: A bit expensive

Perfectly fine

Good vegan option near Circular Quay. Bit pricey at $19 for a burger with small fries. Junk food style.

Just like I remember

I loved the Mary's burger before I went vegan and the vegan version pretty much tastes how I remember it. (Minus differences in patty texture).

If you're nearby and craving a plant-based burger it's worth checking out.

Will try some of their other options at some point.

Glad they offer vegan, but...

Ok, so I love that Mary's offers a vegan menu, made in a separate area, and I want to support that so they keep it. That said, the burgers are small and expensive, and you have to wait for everything. Wait for a table, wait for service, wait for food. If the burgers were life-changing I'd rate it higher, but really it's nothing special.

We tried the vegan versions of the Mary's burger and Cheese burger, which come with shoestring fries.

Pros: Vegan menu

Cons: Expensive, Small burgers, Long waits for everything.

Great service and a good burg!

I was impressed with a few things, firstly the location is great, and as one of the only places with decent vegan open so late is an awesome option. Although not a vegan venue, the staff mentioned the vegan options when explaining the menu, and asked if we were vegan. They are very attentive, and the service was amazing.
Even though its not a vegan joint it's a strong move by the Mary's owners, and a great place to take omnivores, or if you need a late night feed in the city.

Pros: Great vegan options - whole menu can be veganised , Fast service and tasty burgers, Staff very friendly and attentive

Cons: A bit pricey, but expected at that location
