Ok, could be better

The venue had a nice ambience, with a relaxed feel that was perfect for a casual meal. The staff were very accommodating, and mentioned they could veganize many dishes on the menu.

The freshly made guacamole was the highlight. We also opted for the grilled veggie tacos. These were ok, the spicy side of chilli helped this considering these was no vegan cheese or sour cream.

However, I also tried the vegan baja taco, which featured a fried vegan nugget and slaw. Unfortunately, this dish fell a bit short. The nugget itself was decent, but the slaw lacked dressing, making the whole thing a bit dry.

Overall, the food was average. While the staff's willingness to accommodate dietary needs was commendable, the actual vegan options were somewhat limited. The lack of vegan cheese, sour cream, or a vegan sauce (on the slaw) restricted the possibilities.

With a few of these additions to the menu, could easily elevate their vegan offerings.

Guacamole is worth a try

This place began with a more extensive menu and vegans are now presented with a very narrow choice.
My reasons for listing this place are that it has a covered outside seating area and is a still-rare example of a neighbourhood restaurant that is away from the usual malls and hotels. The main attraction for me is the 'guacamole on the spot', which is made at the table and for me totally hits the mark. Fill yourself up with the complimentary tortilla chips and take away a packet of gluten-free corn tortillas and you will not feel too badly served.

With just a tiiiiny dose of goodwill and imagination, this could be a great spot for vegans- the competition in the neighbourhood is poor.

Pros: Guacamole on the spot

Cons: Limited, meat-dominated menu
