Animal cruelty - Edit
Offers vegan food but unfortunately they keep two highly stressed birds in a tiny cage inside the restaurant. They also have a cat to keep mice away I assume, but shamefully she too lives in the loud restaurant. To avoid

Unexpectedly good experience - Edit
It’s pretty hard to find a decent place to eat at late-lunch time in Paris. Usually, middle Eastern cuisine cafes are always vegan friendly, so we decided to try “just another vegan friendly place to fill the hole”. But, the Lyoom Cantine definitely managed to exceed our expectations! Firstly, the place itself is very cozy and staff is very helpful. Secondly, they make all sandwiches and wraps with homemade bread (which automatically makes them already much cooler and better than many other similar cafés). So, there are two types of bread: melaoui and batbout. The first one isn’t your typical tortilla-style thing - it’s a flaky flatbread, which reminded me of an Indian paratha. Batbout looked like pita, but we haven’t tried it yet. The original position from the menu (falafel in the flatbread) calls for the cheese spread, but they kindly replaced it with hummus (which made the falafel wrap better imho). For side we’ve chosen good old fries, but again, it’s definitely not the creepy stuff from frozen section, but a very good homemade moderately crispy chips sprinkled with homemade pickled vegetables and herbs. For drinks I would definitely recommend their homemade lemonade- it’s really lemony and zesty!
