Great veg restaurant in Quito Old Town close to main square - Edit
We are staying at Casa San Marcos on Junín (highly recommended!), and were told of this restaurant just two doors away. Entrees were vegetarian, but they can substitute vegan cheese.
Read moreMy husband had baked eggplant with cheese, and I had baked portobello mushrooms with vegan cheese, and sautéed herbed potatoes. He rated his excellent, and we both rated mine very good. We both really enjoyed the potatoes. The environment was quiet and nicely decorated, and service was very helpful.
Pros: Food very good, Many vegan options, Eclectic decor
Cons: Only one English menu available , Spanish menu had more than English

Beautiful setting - Edit
Lovely room that you could chill out in for the afternoon. The one lady running the place and cooking everything was lovely and spoke English. Most meals seemed to be microwaved, so my samosa was more soggy than crispy. Vegan options for most meals. My husband really liked his caprese sandwich.

We were looking for an early dinner (4 pm) before an evening flight. We enjoyed stuffed tomatoes with seitan and stuffed mushrooms, both served with potatoes. In addition to several vegetable-centered entrees there are some pastas.

Tasty mains, quirky and interesting interior - Edit
This place is worth going to just to see the various relics inside. The food was prepared freshly - the dish I wanted wasn’t possible but they offered several alternatives. Vegan cheese swapped in for free.
