Fun experience

We went at lunchtime on the 14th day of the lunar month, so the place was absolutely packed. We tried items we'd never had before - 8 types of pastes (turned out these were tasty pates/fake meats), fig salad, banana flower salad. The food was good (my favorite meal in Hue), and total bill was unbelievably cheap.

The place is huge, with lots of semi-communal tables. We ended up sitting at a small table on a little raised platform near the cash register, cross-legged, though all the other tables had regular chairs. It was pretty hot, though there are fans.

There was a miscommunication when we thought we'd ordered another dish and were waiting around for it, only to find out that the waiter had crossed it off on our tab (I guess they'd run out of it?) and not told us it was unavailable. No big deal, though.

Pros: Large menu, Good regional specialties

Cons: Very crowded at times

Flavourless

We were not impressed! Nothing had any flavour except the fried jackfruit. The service wasn’t that friendly either

Average food - don't like people smoking near us!!!

We visited this place in Hue in early March 2025. The place looked better in pictures than in reality. The place was rustic. The décor looked old and dusty. We tried the fried spring rolls and the Mexican sauce with bread. The second dish was quite hot. Yet, all the food was acceptable. The place was extremely hot, with no air conditioning. Also, I tried the strawberry milk. It was like a milk-and-raspberry cordial with sugar syrup. I had to keep watering it down. This place was popular with locals, which highlighted authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The service was prompt. There are heaps of meal and drink options for vegans, which was great. The place was okay, value for money. It was an average visit, but nothing really outstanding. I did not like that the locals were smoking quite close to where we were eating.

Pros: Quick service, Extensive menu, Food quality was okay

Cons: The food could be fresher and tastier, The venue was dusty and looked unclean, People smoking in the venue when you are eating

Good price. Good food

I had pho and fried jackfuit. I like both. And can recommend salty lemon juice.

Not fresh

I would not recommend this place. I didn’t really like the food. The food was cold and not fresh. I ordered rice with tofu and aubergine and some glutinous rice pancakes. We all didn’t like the rice things. It is quite cheap and run by locals, which is nice.

Worst Meal we had in Hue

We went here after we dropped off our bike as it was near our accomodation. Had high hopes because of the reviews but it was the worst meal we had in Hue. Menu has translation issues so we ordered from the pictures but everything was cold and flavourless

So good!

This place is so delicious 😌 I had the Vietnamese vegan udon. And the eggplant and mixed veggies. They’re all so delicious. And the atmosphere is also very beautiful. This restaurant is about 20 years old or so - as told to us by our taxi driver.

Best meal we had in Hue!

Hue was particularly challenging for vegan food it seemed, this was the only placed that served a actual good meal!
Food was tasty and portions were good, service a bit nonchalant but not an issue as food came fast and fresh

Pros: Best meal in Hue, Good Price

Cons: Bit far out of the main town area

Nice enough but wouldn’t go back.

The aubgergine in tofu was lovely, everything else was quite average. The spring rolls, rice and tofu were all okay but nothing special. I think lots of food came from a buffet so it was not that hot.

Borderline at best, awful service

I had some sour soup (bamboo shoots, mushrooms, etc...a VN traditional food), some fried jackfruit (very meat-like and popular nowadays), and a bowl of rice. The soup wasn't bad, and the rice was (overpriced) plain white rice, but the jackfruit was greasy and nearly cold, and more like deep-fried...not so good.

The service here is horrendously bad...just atrocious really. And tpr-he prices are definitely too high for what you get... The atmosphere iis semi-open with some fountain with fish and some plants, but feels old and dirty and the air was bad. I actually turned on two nearby fans and --get this-- the waiter walked over and turned one of them off!! I almost walked out right there...and I asked for water twice and didn't get any, wanted to wash my hands, no soap, table was dirty..everything felt dirty.. When I arrived I had to hunt down someone to help me, and then still waited a long time after that....it was like they were all stoned or something, stoned turtles that stopped caring a long time ago.

I wouldn't go to this place, frankly.

Pros: fountain with fish

Cons: bad food, overpriced for what you get, worst service imaginable

Not good

We did not like this place.
The sushi was so gross, we could not finish it because it tasted suuuper strange. The vegetable soup was okay but nothing special at all.
We expected sauteed vegetables with soy sauce but got steamed veggies and some soy sauce on the side, but that may be our fault because we maybe didn't understand the menue.
The springrolls were the ony good thing.
All in all strange place with ignorant waiters.

Ein Highlight unserer Reise!

Wirklich etwas besonderes!

Best food

The language barrier is hard but order rice or noodles and then the side dishes marked according to price, eh 25000 d or main (appetizers) 60,000d I think that’s how it works! Anyway just plunge in a go for it! It’s all ridiculously tasty. Prob the best vegetarian food we have had in Vietnam 😊

Pros: Great food , Lovely restaurant

Cons: No English , Confusing menu

Good and cheap food

As other people mentioned, the translation of the dishes is quite funny but hard to understand, so I would read what people recommend here and order that. The Mecan (seitan) was very good and there were also a lot of locals here. The food came quickly and it was very tasty, but all of it spicier than I've had it anywhere else. If that's not your thing, maybe this isn't your place

Pros: All the dishes seem vegan, Local spot

Cons: Unclear what isn't vegan

Exceptionnel !

Cons: Pas cher

Ok, didn’t live up to hype

It certainly isn’t the best veggie restaurant in town but it’s ok, the food is tasty and cheap but the menu is so difficult to understand and the ordering very sporadic. Had to remind them of several dishes we had ordered. You need 3-5 dishes between 2 to make a meal

Pros: Lots of vegan choice , Cheap

Cons: Poor menu to understand , Poor service, quick but sporadic

Yes, agreed. The owner of my hotel (also a Buddhist vegetarian like me) wholeheartedly recommended this place to me, said it was the best in town. Wrong. It is horrible...ok, maybe not that bad, but close.

I got the strong feeling of a place that was probably the "place to be" a few years ago, and is now falling apart, with a staff that just stopped caring...I couldn't even get a glass of water, and the place is pretty nasty too..

Hello owners of this place? There is an Internet nowadays and people share information...you cannot rest on your laurels and forever rake in money just because you might have been "the best" 5 or 10 years ago...get it together or go under.

A huge disappointment

We arrived at 8:15pm- that place was packed with people and packed with GARBAGE. The floor was FILLED with garbage from the other guests. The waiter asked us to sit at a dirty table and instead of cleaning it, he just pushed the garbage to the floor. We were then assigned another waiter who didn’t know English and didn’t know how to help us with the menu. instead of trying to help, every time I asked a question, he pointed at the clock so we know they’re about to close. They were out of most of the dishes we wanted to try. I found and English speaking waiter and asked for a recommendation so he recommended the spring roles- pretty boring recommendation. Anyways, anything we ordered was too oily and not really tasty and we couldn’t finish it. While we were eating, they began to sweep the garbage. One worker started to swipe the garden next to us. We pointed at a huge snail, so that he won’t crush it by mistake. Instead, he hit it with the broom like it was a golf ball. We were shocked - and he laughed and went away.
Sorry, we really wanted to like this place but this was one of the worst food experiences we had in Vietnam

Pros: A lot of options

Cons: Really really dirty , Way too much oil

Not anything particular

I maybe had too great expectations for this place but what I ordered was not very flavorful. There is a big range of options so maybe it was just bad luck on my selection.

Pros: Many options

Cons: Food was a little bland

Delicious

We tried Sushi (ok but I wouldn't recommend), mixed vegs and jackfruit with sesame. The dishes don't taste very special or great but it's good!
Except for some milk-drinks, all meals seem to be vegan.
