Serves meat, vegan options available. One of few restaurants in the city to have a separate vegetarian section on the menu that offers more than just gnocchi and spaghetti. Discount to students at Scuola Babilonia.

Not much for Vegans

...and nothing for Vegans with fine taste. At the end of the card there are 3 Vegan options: soy breaded cutlet, soy lasagne and arancini. The cutlet was hard, I also didn't like the bruschette pomodori very much nor the boring salad. Cocktail was good. Beer not so good.

Pros: Cocktails, large choice, Nice View

Cons: Only few vegan options , Not quite the place to eat

Not for Vegans!

I read somewhere that this place catered for vegans - it doesn't. The waiter suggested I have a pizza without cheese or a vegan arancino (not on the menu). I opted for the latter. It came on a plastic tray and had obviously just come out of a microwave. It was really dire both in texture and taste. However, if you fancy having a drink and watching the world go by, this is a great place to do that - and the waiters are entertaining too!

Pros: Location on Corso Umberto, Entertaining waiters

Cons: Not for vegans

Cheap Eats

Compared to the rest of Toarmina, this is quite cheap. Additional 10% discount for students enrolled in Scuola Babilonia. Though you get what you pay for: not the greatest atmosphere, feels more like a American deli, and food is far from gourmet. On the other hand, most of Taormina's restaurants all serve the same things at highly inflated prices and don't have a separate veggie menu. This one does have a vegetarian section in the menu composed of sub sandwiches. Vegan is possible, but this place better suited for vegetarians. Vegans will likely be disappointed. Not a panacea of veg food, but my opinion is it's the best restaurant for vegetarians in Taormina.

For drinks, it has *the best* beer selection in Taormina. Good beer is extremely hard to find in Italy, but Licchio's has imports from around Europe and also Italian craft beer (birra artigianale).

I waffle between 3 and 4 stars. In a veg friendly city I'd probably give it 3 stars, but judging it based on what else Taormina has to offer for both price and selection this deli stands out in the city. Plus I love beer, so that gives it a bump.

Pros: Cheap, Excellent beer

Cons: Atmosphere, Could have better food selection
