Not as good as before pandemic, but still incredible for area

Before the pandemic they had a huge hot bar with many vegan options and creative recipes. Now the hot bar is just a salad bar with a few vegan options but the labels no longer have the vegan sign in this area. In the bakery, they have vegan cookies and muffins clearly labeled and in the ready to go food section also vegan options like Buffalo tofu that is also clearly labeled.

Lexington has the best bulk section in Buffalo where you can bring your own container. Lots of vegan options from PBM to enormous bricks of tofu. Wonderful place to shop, but the standards are ever slightly lower than before. Hence why I lowered to 4 stars, but it still realistically is a 5 star establishment.

Pros: Vegan labeled goods, Many vegan prepared food options , Giant bricks of tofu

Cons: Ever slightly less good than before the pandemic

TONS OF VEGAN GOODIES

I'm shocked at the review before me that says that there were no vegan items in the prepared section. I'm curious if they even looked?? There are a TON!! All marked with a clear V for vegan, and all ingredients clearly marked in everything.

In the prepared section there was several vegan wraps (buffalo tofu, peanut tofu), a tempeh BLT, several vegan dips, VEGAN MAC N CHEESE, vegan noodle bowls, and amazing vegan desserts including a chocolate mousse, cupcakes, cookies, and so much more. Prepared foods aren't cheap but then again they rarely are no matter where you go.

Tons of vegan items in the main grocery section as well, a giant section for non dairy flavors, a whole section of the fridge with vegan goodies (Miyoko's cheese, butter, Beyond, local tempeh/tofu, etc.etc).

Love the Lexington Co-ops so much!

Thought there would be more veg items

The store is really nicely laid out and the produce is wonderful. I can never find japenese sweet potatoes but they had a ton! Bulk section is decent. I like that they had bulk tofu and tempeh. I was surprised that they didn't have many vegan grocery items and I didn't have any luck finding a decent vegan "to-go" item in the prepared foods section.

Pros: Bulk foods, Great selection of produce, Friendly staff

Cons: Not a great selection of vegan items

Prepared food section is wonderful

The Co-op has a variety of options on their hot and cold bar as well as prepared foods in the cases close by. Items are clearly marked vegan or vegetarian and ingredients are listed on everything.
