Nice atmosphere but French traditional! - Edit
The 9th district of Lyon is a Happy Cow black hole, apart from a couple of US chains. Therefore, I'm adding this restaurant even though it's mainly French traditional (and serves veal) because at least they make an effort.
Read moreThey have a vegetarian section on the menu with two vegan dishes - fried smoked tofu and vegan salad. They also have a "vegetarian" dish called ravioles (small ravioli with cheese stuffing), but it contains parmesan (most French don't know that this is not vegetarian). The smoked tofu (with cubed potatoes and veg) was vey nice and the vegetables (mixture of purée and sliced vegetables) was imaginative.
We also were able to sit outside, on a large square with little nearby traffic.
Pros: They've at least heard of vegan, Outdoor seating, Friendly staff
Cons: Serves veal, Choice is limited
