Best meal we had in Venice. - Edit
We had seen this restaurant listed in Happy Cow and then our hotel concierge recommended as well. If you take water taxi to Santa Marta stop, it was straight down street and easy to find. Recommend reservations and extra time to deal with water taxi. Not only was the food all vegan and outstanding, the prices were not outrageous as we had seen in San Marco area.

Best ravioli I’ve ever had - Edit
This restaurant is amazing! It was so good that we ate there two days in a row during our stay in Venice. The first day I had the black and white ravioli( the best ravioli I have ever had) and my husband had the lasagna. The second day my husband had the ravioli and I had a flavourful and delicious chickpea omelette. We had dessert both days, the first day we had the tiramisu and the second day we had a hazelnut cake that tasted like a Ferraro Roche. The food was beautifully presented and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The owner was super friendly and described himself as a vegan activist💗if we had stayed longer in Venice I would have eaten everything on the menu!

Excellent food - Edit
La Tecia Vegana serves excellent vegan Italian food - just what we were looking for. The black and white ravioli were amazing - cooked perfectly, with a delicious filling and sauce. The gnocchi were decent with a good sauce. I got eggplant parmesan and my partner got a seitan steak with polenta and gravy. All of it was delicious and excellently prepared.
Read moreThe restaurant is far from the tourist crowds which is a definite plus - it's a quiet neighborhood, and the people who eat here have searched it out.

Good, Authentic Italian Restaurant - Edit
La Tecia Vegana was a nice place to have a vegan dinner, especially in Venice where vegan options are limited. The food was pretty good overall and well presented. The menu presents satisfying Italian foods while judiciously avoiding certain foods (such as melted cheese) whose vegan equivalents never hold up to the real thing.
Read moreThe mushroom and seitan ravioli are heavenly, and come topped with toasted nuts and swimming in a rich oil based sauce that begs for each drop to be finished with the basket of whole grain bread served along with the first course.
The seitan roast was tender and cleverly molded to resemble a tied roast. The flavor of the gravy was intense, though it tasted vaguely reminiscent of bouillon powder. The true star of the dish was the polenta. Overall it was a hearty course, seasoned convincingly enough to pass for actual meat.
The only dish I tried that did not live up to my expectations were the gnocchi in pesto. Overall, a very nice evening out in Venice.
Pros: Authentic Vegan Italian Food, Good menu selections, One of few Vegan places in Venice
Cons: Located in a remote corner of the city, Some sauces weren't so great
cippalippa
Thank you for your detailed review . Our gravy for the roast seitan is made from white wine, mix herbs and olive oil, no bouillon powder.

Amazing food I Venice - Edit
After eating pasta with canned mushrooms (I know) we where very much looking forward to this reastauran. We where not disappointed 😀. Great service and very, very nice food. We shared two starters, one second, one main and two deserts between us. All in spirit of being able to try as much as possible. My first vegan tiramisu was one of the best tiramisus I'll eaten, and they are hard to make. If anything the side salad for the main was a bit boring. Recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Delicious food, lovely staff, great atmosphere! - Edit
The only vegan restaurant in Venice and it's wonderful! Lovely, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious - we shared the ravioli, omelette, roast Seitan and Bigoli. They were all yummy! I then had the chocolate hazelnut cake and it was one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had! It's a must to visit!

You need to go here if you're in Venice! - Edit
So first of all I need to say what legends the owners are, it was so good to speak to them and get to know them a little. The service was excellent. The menu is fully vegan and varied, even non-vegans would love it here. I had a feeling the food would be good but we were blown away by how good it was. We loved it so much that we booked again for dinner the same evening. You need to book if you want an outside table in the evening as it was busy. The setting is lovely and peaceful, it was a relaxing and wonderful experience to eat here. If you're in Venice, do not miss this place.

Fantastic vegan restaurant! - Edit
This has to be the best vegan restaurant I have ever been to! The food selection was fantastic and my partner is also gluten free and she had a variety of options too. Fantastic value for money and is a lovely walk through Venice or a short walk from the water bus stop. I recommend anyone who is going to Venice to visit here at least once on your visit! We went back twice during our visit so we could try more on the menu. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful and friendly.

Try local Italian and Venetian dishes - Edit
Lots of great items on their all-vegan menu, with local specialties like bigoli in salsa and of course tiramisu, as well as pastas, ravioli, and lasagna. I certainly had a hard time deciding what to order.
Read moreI ended up getting the bigoi in salsa, zucchini flan, and tiramisu. The anchovies in traditional bigoi in salsa are replaced with seaweed. It's cooked together with onions, and the resulting taste is amazing! Zucchini flan was good, but just all right. Tiramisu was wonderful, and very big. Maybe 2 to 3 people could share one.
Take the 4.1 or 5.1 ferry bus to Santa Marta, and then it's a short walk from there. Place isn't packed like other touristy restaurants, and price was fare as well, especially for Venice.
Pros: Vegan, Can try local cuisine, Quiet

First Tier - Edit
Finest and most delicious meal my partner and I have ever eaten. Absolutely incredible. This could be a 5 star restaurant anywhere in the world. As of July 2018 La Tecia Vegana is the only vegan restaurant in Venice and you must eat here vegan or not. It is about a 25 minute walk from the Rialto bridge area. My partner and I had the gazpacho, ravioli, eggplant parm, seitan roast, and tiramisu. We ordered more than enough food because we wanted to try many things. Two can certainly be filled with less than what we ordered. Each dish was unique, incredibly flavorful—well seasoned, well presented, and should be regarded as part of the top tier of food globally. The tiramisu was also amazing and a great way to end our meal. We live near a vegan bakery that is regarded as a top competitor globally and the tiramisu here blows it absolutely out of the water. This restaurant ought to be recognized globally. Service was excellent, cleanliness is excellent, conditioned indoor, as well as outdoor seating, and a nice walk through residential Venice for those traveling. Thank you for the experience La Tecia Vegana. Next time in Italy, no matter the area, we will try and schedule this restaurant into our plans.

We had such a great meal here - well worth the walk from the touristy part of town. Restaurant is in a quiet neighbourhood and the food is a tad bit more fancy than what a lot of the vegan options around town seem to be. So nice to have a romantic meal! Definitely give it a go
