La Tecia Vegana

La Tecia Vegana had only been open for 10 days when we ate there on 15/02/2017. It's an unusual but interesting location that is only 12 minutes by Waterboat(vaporetto) from the centre of Venice. The stop is Santa Marta and the restaurant is then 3 minutes walk. This is a great vegan and vegetarian restaurant which is truly rare in Venice. Every dish is delicious and the house wine is very drinkable and an excellent price as are all the dishes. Service and decour are warm and friendly. Big recommendation!!

Finally we have a vegan restaurant in the historical centre of Venice and a good one. They update the menu every day and they have a large choice of dishes with vegan desserts too. As Entrée we had “Melanzane (eggplants) in Saor”, which very well mimic the typical venetian “Sarde (sardines) in Saor” (with marinated onion, pine seeds and raisin), and a very good hummus. Then, as first course, we had Ribollita (typical Tuscany soup) and the Lasagne with seitan ragout. For the main course we ordered scrambled tofu with curry, zucchini, pepper, carrots and onions and the marinated tofu with tomatoes, garlic, onion and peanuts paste. At the end we had apple pie, Tiramisù and walnut chocolate truffles. Everything was very tasty and well presented. The place is quite simple with a family atmosphere. The staff is friendly.
