if you like spicy food this place is for you - Edit
we drove over an hour to come here only to find that the door was blocked off and it’s takeout only. we called to place the takeout order and were told it’ll be 30 mins. it ended up being over an hour and the entire time we were parked in our car outside waiting. not a single other person walked in the door the entire time, so i don’t know what was taking so long. the food was okay, but the green beans. my god. it was straight up salt. i love excessive salt on everything and i couldn’t tolerate them. maybe it was the seasoning just burning my mouth making it seem salty, i don’t know, but i’ve never tasted anything saltier in my entire life. the fried chicken was good, but very spicy. the mac and cheese was super sweet and almost tasted fruity to me, yet also very spicy. i had high expectations and was super excited to try but was definitely disappointed. when i think soul food i think savory, not spicy. i couldn’t finish it from the spiciness (and im not usually a baby when it comes to spicy)

some of the best vegan food i have ever had. innovative, creative, delicious, and really impressive quality. i can’t wait to come back. just wish they weren’t take out only, and they run out of stuff kinda quick it seems.

I have eaten at a few Vegan restaurants around New Jersey. I really wanted to try fried oyster mushrooms and I did some searching. I read the Yelp reviews and ordered the Southern Fried Un-Chicken platter. AND BAAABBBBYYYYY!!! This food hit the mark. The un-chicken, mac n cheese, and corn bread (which I have not had since 2015) MADE MY TASTEBUDS HAPPY. Will be going back and highly recommend this restaurant.

Another flakey vegan place with whimsical "hours" - Edit
I've been to this place twice during their supposed "business hours" and both times I had no luck! Door was locked despite the flashing open sign. Tried calling a bunch of time and just got an answering machine with a full mail box. Website doesn't work. Very confusing! Both times there were plenty of other customers trying the door also, so I was not confused alone. I'm not sure this place is even real at this point. Don't waste your time unless you're just passing by already and feel like pulling on a locked door for exercise.

My husband and I were looking for a place close for take out, I am so glad we found this spot. It has the best vegan Mac n cheese I’ve ever had. I had a unchicken parm on a roll, sooo good. Highly recommend!

This is a magical place. Thank goodness SJ area finally has some bomb vegan food. I can’t recommend this place enough- I ordered so many things bc I was dying to try it, and it came out to 2 generous portions of food. Appetizer, main with sides, and dessert. I ordered a salad, bbq meatloaf with yams and Mac and cheese side, cornbread, and a banana strawberry pudding. It was phenomenal. This restaurant changed the game! Easily could compete with best vegan restaurants in Philly. I will be supporting this small business as much as I can.

With the exception of the cheese, everything this place makes it gold. Super easy stop in the area every time, both for a snack or a meal. Definitely grab their juice too if they're available. It was delicious!
Read moreI have had the Cheesesteak, Chicken Parm, Fried Chicken, Falafel, Corn Bread, and Mac n Cheese. The Fried Chicken and the Cornbread side was the best so far, with the Falafel as a close second.

I had the philly cheez steak, and had to hard stop to reassure myself it was vegan. Also my omnivore family was very satisfied/surprised by the food they tried. So happy this restaurant is local, I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

loved everything here!!! I will absolutely drive the half hour back down to visit again. I got the jackfruit cakes, kale, and mac and cheese. Everything was perfect. The brined kale was really exceptional as I've never had kale seasoned this well. I truly didn't believe the max and cheese was actually vegan, it was so good, and I made one of my non vegan friends try some because I was so shocked even though I wanted to keep it all for myself. And it also came with two delightful sauces! very glad that this place is open; I hope it thrives.
