Kung Tak Lam - Shatin, Hong Kong - Edit

This chain is owned by the Four Seas group and their huge portfolio of meat and seafood. I've no issue with non-vegetarians owning / managing vegetarian restaurants as long as they are rigorous to ensure all they stock / offer is vegetarian. I've made management aware of the prolific use of cow, pig , fish extract etc t remove yeast in wine making. They just don't seem to care though. I'd rate places like this at zero or negative if happycow would let me.

As other have said the food is overpriced.

overpriced - Edit

The restaurant is clean and the service is great. They speak English.
I picked the fried mushrooms with sweet and sour sauce because I was craving for sweet and sour sauce but please don't order it. It's like dried crackers they dipped in the sauce.
I picked the wrong thing and spent 120 HKD for tea, a bowl of white rice and appetizer.
Will not go back.

Pros: clean, serve late lunch, fast service

Cons: overpriced, expensive, not cheap

Not great - would not recommend - Edit

This shop was quite a disappointment. Was excited to find a vegetarian resteraunt so easily accessible in Sha Tin but it let me down. The food was very overpriced and lacked flavour and quality. I would not recommend.

Pros: Location

Cons: No flavour, Overpriced, No nutrients

Hard to find! - Edit

We spent an age trying to find this place, when in reality it's just a few steps from Sha Tin station: in the atrium of New Town Plaza mall, simply take the lift/elevator up to THE MENU@Level 7.

Although the restaurant is officially open until 11pm, they took last order at 10pm and closed as soon as we had finished.

Just as good! - Edit

This was the first time I've eaten at this location. Been to the ones in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay many many times. Food quality has always been consistent, never had a bad meal. That said, this Shatin location is very small compared to the other two, and there's not much of a view either. Good location though, right on the restaurant floor inside New Town Plaza mall.

Pros: yummy food, location

Cons: small restaurant, so-so setting
