Solid Syrian Cuisine - Edit
Update: this place has made significant improvements and is now my favorite place in town! They make real flatbread now! Their spinach pies are killer. Hummus is some of the best I've had. Even the rice (with saffron and cardomon pods) is delicious. If you can handle spice, get a side of their green sauce (serrano pepper and olive oil). It's a little pricey, but you'll likely be happy.

Maybe I'm spoiled from my time eating at Nicholas and Ya Hala in Portland. The food was pretty good but not great. The hummus was very smooth and tasty. The fava dish (ful mudammas) was very lemony and satisfying. The grape leaves and falafel are better than average. The baba was acceptable but not very aesthetically pleasing. The big bummer is that they just toast large tortillas as their bread. Kinda lame. I mean, tortillas are a life necessity, but not for tearing off pieces and dipping into Middle Eastern spreads. Hopefully they will up their bread game. The flatbread "pizzas" that came out of the kitchen looked good though. The menu was marked with a "D" for dairy and "H" for meat. The servers were knowledgeable about ingredients too.
This is a new place in town, solid foundation with room to improve. We will go back for sure, just not stoked on the tortilla thing.

Incomparable - Edit
The staff was more than happy to clarify the fully vegan options with the chef. All food items were beyond delicious, as well as the boozy drinks we ordered. Make sure to ask for recommendations if it is your first time dining here, you will not be disappointed. #1 place to eat in Corvallis.

Okay - Edit
Attentive and friendly staff, fast service, great soundtrack (Fairuz the whole time!), but the food was just okay. Shriveled tomato garnish on my tabbouleh salad. Very small portion of soup. Flavors were decent.

Delicious! - Edit
My husband and I went for a date night here. It was a brightly lit, lovely atmosphere, until about 6:30, the lights went down and became more romantic feeling. There was no table available when we arrived so they told us we can order a drink at the bar then when a table opened they would give it to us. Unfortunately, each time a table opened, the hostess sat someone else there. Kindof a bummer for what was to be a (very rare) date night. Leading with that, the service was mediocre. My husband was through his first beer before I ever was told they were out of my choice, which was Almaza, a Lebanese beer. About 20 minutes later, my second choice was finally served. Once our food was served, we never saw the server again, until it was time to hunt them down for the check. But, they were quite friendly, and we didn’t mind being left alone, though we both would’ve liked more to drink. Speaking of, I got the Polotic, a mint lemonade with tequila…it was fabulous; like a mojito crossed with a margarita…my two favorite cocktails😄for appetizers, we had the baba ganoush and also spicy garlic potatoes. Both were delicious, my husband noted that the baba tasted like green Chile salsa, and he wasn’t wrong. Not what I expect from baba, but very tasty nonetheless. The potatoes reminded us both of Buffalo sauce, though not spicy at all. Also, tasty! Hubby ordered a kabob meat dish and said it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the moskaet betenjan. I had not had that dish before so can’t speak to how it’s supposed to taste, but reminded me very much of an Italian dish. It came with a wonderful jasmine rice, sliced radish, and green bell peppers. I assume the rice was seasoned with saffron. I was hoping for a little heat in my dish, so my husband gave me a very hot pepper from his plate. Everything served was truly delicious. Another reviewer mentioned tortillas served with the baba ganoush. That was not our experience. We received a freshly fried and warm pita. Everything we ate and drank was five stars (out of five). The service left much to be desired, but it was Friday night and busy. We’ll definitely be back for more. It’s especially great when you’re a mixed couple like we are, vegan and carnivore. Our drinks, apps, and meals came to $101 plus tip. Also, they had photos of all their meals on the menu, that was great for foreign cuisine!
