Traditionell vietnamesisches Essen - Edit
Der Zugang zum Restaurant ist schon ein Erlebnis an sich. 😉 Das Essen ist köstlich und man hat einfach das Gefühl sehr gut umsorgt zu werden. Ein Muss in Hanoi!

Quantity over quality - Edit
I must give an honest review because the place definitely doesn't deserve 5 stars.
Read moreThey give you a lot of "free food" alongside what you order. But I must warn you, most of their menu doesn't taste freshly prepared so I assume a lot of it is microwaved. Their fried spring rolls are good though, I'll give them that, but the self-made rice paper rolls seem unhygienic as the same bag of rice paper is handed around among guests.
The only situation in which I'd recommend this, is as a post-workout meal, as they do give you a hell of a lot of food.
Pros: Spring rolls
Cons: Too much extra food, Not very flavourful, Seemingly mostly microwaved

Amazing food - Edit
We are here several times while in Hanoi. The food was great, the appetizers they give you before the meal were so flavorful and made us want to come back again and again. Delicious vegan food in Hanoi.

Fully Vegan. Hubby and I tried a few different dishes each and loved them all. Staff showed you how to put the dishes together which was very helpful. They also brought out extra food which we had to try so was fully stuffed when we waddled out. Would have loved to try everything but our time is limited and we have to move on. It’s easy to miss as it is down a tiny alley but once you find this hidden gem you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend

Authentic vegan food - Edit
Fully vegan, independently owned restaurant. Food is delicious and the staff are great and will show you how to eat certain dishes. Be aware they give you loads of free dishes-I ordered vegan chicken with stir fried vegetables and spring rolls and ended up with about 7 dishes. All free and it was super kind, however staff insisted I take it and I did feel a bit awkward with all this food that kept coming and I was on my own. I did end up feeling pressured to try and eat it all when I only initially wanted a small lunch. Food all great, so come with an empty stomach

Hidden vegan restaurant in Hanoi - Edit
We had here our first vietnamese dinner. We loved the experience: you order dishes and drinks that u want, then they bring u some other free plates. Everthing is vegan and u can find also ‘fake meet’ made by wheat protein (I think seitan or similar) and mushroom. It is a small restaurant hidden near the old quarter in Hanoi

Lovely little find. The owner offers free protein with every meal. We got LOADS of free food with our order. Felt like family. Food was lovely and highly recommended. Hard to find, small door opening. Walk through the alleyway. Look on my pictures

Never been anywhere like it - Edit
Felt like I was eating with a family; they brought so much free food and were showing us how to properly eat the dishes. Seemingly one of the only places in Hanoi to heavily feature mock meats. As other reviewers have mentioned, the owner presents you with his story when you pay the bill, but I didn’t feel that this was done in a pushy way at all

Nice but a lot of food!! - Edit
I was encouraged to order a starter and main so I went for 2 fresh spring rolls and BBQ vegan chicken (which I thought was expensive for VN), the menu said you get a free protein starter, and I was told rice was also free. Somehow ended up with 10 dishes at my table and they kept offering to refill things! Do be wary if you're not that hungry! I could see lots of food being left. I wouldn't have ordered the spring rolls if I knew I'd get free ones! I think at the end they are looking for an extra donation so just be aware.

I love this Restaurant - Edit
I've been here four times already, which says a lot about how much I love this place. The food is simply outstanding, and the tomato tofu is the best I've ever had. It's incredibly flavorful and one of those dishes that keeps you coming back for more.
Read moreThe owner is also very kind and has a truly inspiring life story, which makes the experience even more memorable.

Every time we're in Hanoi, we visit the restaurant. The dishes that are served as sides are really delicious. Actually, I prefer them to the dishes on the menu.

Katze, Hanoi - Edit
Took a bit of my head around all the different dishes brought to me that I didn't order. I agree with the previous reviewer that it feels odd the way that the boss's story is presented at bill time. That is in addition to the story already being mounted on the wall. The story also states they are a social enterprise. I didn't see any indication of anything to justify/validate the claim of being a social enterprise. I regret I couldn't help but wonder if their business model is based on assertive maximisation of tips. I'd respectfully be delighted to be proven wrong.
Read moreIts inexpensive by Western standards, pricey compared to other places I tried in Hanoi.

Not Great - Edit
We ordered three items that were mediocre at best. Yes they give you “free” stuff, but our meal ended up being more expensive than other places. The owner’s life story was not printed in the menu but rather presented to us along with the bill which felt manipulative. The entrance is easier to find if you approach it head on from the puppet theater street.

Love This Place !!! - Edit
I was really impressed with this restaurant! The staff, including the owner, were incredibly attentive and took the time to explain everything clearly. They even offered complimentary food and kept checking if we’d like more, which made us feel so well taken care of. This is definitely one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had!

Exceptional Service and Food - Edit
You get a whole meal for free as a treat. I was by myself and declined the rest of the free starter, bc it just would have been too much. I ordered the banana flower salad which was delicious. Also the story of the owner is heartwarming and it feels good to support a great cause. 10/10 recommend and will come again.

What an amazing place! - Edit
Best food so far in Hanoi. It’s a bit hard to find up a small alleyway but worth persistence. The interior is simple and friendly. We were given an array of small plates of food based around tofu in tomato sauce at no cost. That’s a first for us. And then the main courses came with abundant fresh green herbs which were refilled as much as we liked. All dishes were superb. Freshly made and delicious.
Read moreThe owner had quite a story of how he grew up and his philosophy which is worth learning. Overall one of the best eating experiences we’ve ever had and if you look for genuine and honestly great food then give this a try.

Das Restaurant ist ein bisschen versteckt. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker. Ein Gericht pro Person reicht völlig, da man viele zusätzliche Beilagen kostenlos dazu bekommt.
