Vegan options not on the menu, but delicious - Edit
East asian food cafe in Kuroishi. Reservation for vegan food is not needed, but you have to ask for the options as they are not on the menu. They usually have somen (cold noodles) and soup curry.
Read moreAs they are not on the menu, the amount of prepared meals is limited, so if going with more than 2-3 people, it might be better to make a call ahead.
Both options are good and filling.
Meals are available on their own or as a set including a drink and desert. The vegan desert was tapioca balls in coconut milk.
Pros: one of few options in area, reservation not needed, delicous food, filling
Cons: Options not on the menu

Hidden Vegan Treats - Edit
We were able to try the two vegan options on the menu, both of which quite enjoyable. The curry had a nice blend of spices, and the noodles came with a rather enjoyable peanut sauce. The noodles were nice and refreshing, making them a great meal for the hot weather. Both meals came with a salad and tapioca dessert. The restaurant itself is cosy, albeit a little small.

Comfortable Outdoor Seating, Hidden Vegan Options! - Edit
I had read that they had 2 vegan lunch options, but when I arrived at the shop, they didn't appear to be on the menu. I decided to ask the staff, and they told us that they only had the curry option that day (I guess they sometimes have the noodles too, but they were out). We both ordered the vegan curry lunch set which came with curry, rice, a salad, and a coconut tapioca dessert. We ordered coffee separately.
Read moreThe inside of the shop was cute and they had some little craft-type souvenirs for sale. We ate outside. There was only one table outside, and it was very relaxing and comfortable. If it is crowded, there is also a little park nearby which has covered picnic tables; another option if you decide to get take-out.
We enjoyed the lunch and I hope to go again and try their vegan noodles next time! It's nice to have vegan options in Kuroishi, a lovely historical town with lots of hot springs and cute shops.
Pros: Vegan options in Kuroishi - a rare thing!, Comfortable outdoor seats, Good value
Cons: Vegan options are not written on the menu, We only had 1 choice since they were outta noodles
