Awesome Place - Edit
Amazing Currys and very lovely Family!
Read moreDuring the Covid-19 Lockdown we ate there almost everyday for 2 month straight. We loved the entire "vegetarian-delights" - Page (pretty sure everything on there is vegan) and the Nan-bread. Most often we orderd Navaratma Korma and Channa Masala.
The Family was very nice and made every dish vegan and almost oil-free for us. Thanks a lot!
The Food was incredibly cheap! (1,5€ /15000 kip for one Curry)
(The surronding in the other Indian Restaurant is a little nicer)
Special Tip:
Go buy a cabbage at the Store in the same street and cut it. Use the Nan-bread as a Wrap and put some Curry, the cabbage, pickel onions and maybe some rice in there. We loved it!
Pros: Delicous currys, very cheap, friendly family
Cons: Serves meat

Just ok - Edit
We ordered green peas masala and chana masala with rice. Peas were too dry. Definitely not the best indian food we had! We tried another one on Don Det and it was amazing! Won't really recommend this one..

Delicious curries, highly recommend - Edit
This was the best food we had on the island, fairly priced and run by a nice family, so we ate here maybe 10 times during our 3 week stay. They seemed to understand what vegan meant without any confusion - especially the young guy that usually took the orders. I do really hope the curries were actually vegan, they always came out pretty quickly but were really rich and flavourful. We worked our way through most of the vegetable curries - all 15,000 kip plus 5,000 for steamed rice. Favourites were the chana masala and “paneer” korma with tofu. The curries are very saucy so chapati was a nice accompaniment.
Read moreThey also have a currency exchange with really good rates (8800 kip per US$1).
Pros: familiar with veganism, great curries, friendly family-run place
Cons: hope there was no sneaky dairy in the curries

Vegan on Don Det ...Jasmine made it possible - Edit
I got to Don Det around lunchtime and actually intended to go to the vegan restaurant on the island. Unfortunately they didn't serve food that day (or any other upcoming day?). So after eating at Jasmine in Pakse I decided to head back to the one on Don Det. The food and service in Pakse was a bit disappointing so it really took me by surprise to be welcomed by the lovely Indian family who runs this branch, they were fully aware of veganism, explained everything to me and the food in this restaurant was outstanding. Yes it is a bit more expensive than in Pakse but worth every kip! I had chapati, dosa, chickea and pea massala, jalfrezi, potato curry, naan etc (yes I ate there for almost every meal) and hands down everything was delicious. They open at 6:30AM so perfect for breakfast as well if you're heading off to the kayak tour or have a boat to catch somewhere. I would love to give 6 stars but am only able to give 4. Definitely go to this restaurant if you're on Don Det and in need for some tasty vegan food!😄

Good vege food - Edit
Jasmine has 3 restaurants, one here on Don Det, one on Don Khon and the original in Pakse. Although the food is a bit more expensive here than it is in Pakse, same good tasty food. Vegetarian mains are all 15.000 kips, plain rice 5.000 kips. Prices are alright if you consider they have to bring everything to the island.
Read moreThey serve breakfast between 7AM and 11AM with a special menu.
Free wifi that works well.
I recommend.
Pros: Owner speaks English , Very tasty
