Tasty and classy Indian food

If you let them know you are vegan they will give you a separate menu or point you to a section of the menu where all is vegan. Food itself is very very tasty and the staff is very nice. Will come again!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Very tasty , Good value for money

Delicious

I've been to Jamuna twice and the food doesn't disappoint. The flavours are amazing and dishes so well spiced. They have a lot of vegan options, though you have to pay extra cause they need to adjust things in the kitchen. For this reason they charge between 1-2 euros extra. Also, seen as it's such a busy restaurant, prepare to wait a long time for your food. Nevertheless, the staff is incredibly friendly and the food is like a dream. Definitely recommend!

Pros: lots of (adjustable) vegan options, friendly staff, simply delicious

Cons: very busy, long wait for food , extra charge for "veganising" dishes

excellent food, but people standing in line in the middle of the restaurant

Jamuna serves excellent food and is clearly very popular: it was fully booked on a Thursday evening and there were lines of people waiting for their table or take-out order most of the time. The staff was working hard to keep up and was friendly.
I was seated next to the desk and the line of people and phone calls so close by made me feel ill at ease. I would recommend take-out or booking a table in advance while asking for a table at the back.
Like in many Indian restaurants, part of the staff did not speak Dutch. One of them hardly spoke any English either. They had trouble understanding me when I double-checked whether the dips for the papadum were vegan (only the red one is).
The restaurant has a vegetarian menu (no mention of vegan options). I chose Vegetable Dhansak, a curry with vegetables and lentils. The Dutch speaking person who took up my order fortunately knew immediately what I meant when I asked if it was vegan. She said that they could make it vegan, but they would charge 1 € extra, since they had to prepare the rice especially for me without ghee. In the end, she did not charge the extra fee, maybe that was because I said that this was the world upside down (since I did not ask for an extra ingredient, but for things to be omitted).
The curry was very good.

Pros: great food, friendly staff

Cons: restaurant crowded with clients waiting, noisy, could be more vegan friendly, staff did not all speak Dutch (or even English)
