Vegan friendly pasta restaurant close to the station - Edit
Went here for lunch. Two pastas were vegan by default, and one could be made vegan by leaving out the cheese. They also offer vegan options like bruschetta, quinoa salad and mixed vegetables. Nothing is explicitly labeled as vegan, so it’s best to ask the staff (who were very friendly and helpful). The space itself is cute and spacious. The bruschettas we tried were pretty good, and while the pasta was a bit heavy on the oil, it was still tasty overall.

Beste Nudeln in Lucca wenn man Lust auf mehr als Tomatensoße hat - Edit
Sehr leckere selbstgemachte Pasta. Es lohnt sich zu fragen welche Soßen Vegan sind, da manche mit nciht veganen Nudeln kombiniert sind. Vor allem die veganen Ravioli lohnen sich. Kostenloses Wasser

Proper pasta - Edit
Really good staff to help with translation from Italian only blackboard with daily dishes. Pasta cooked beautifully and served on mismatched crockery which adds a homely feel. We are outside so great people watching. Maybe a little pricey for what should ideally be a cheap dish in a less touristy location than city centre hence the dropped star. Really like the concept and vibe.

Good option in Lucca - Edit
Two of their dishes were vegan when we went one desert option. Both very good - even if I think they could offer more. Plenty of place indoors and outdoors. I ordered a white wine that was definitely not good (wine in box that were probably open for too long) - and asked to change which they did but were not very happy about it. In any case, a safe option in Lucca for vegans.

Boring food and bad service - Edit
Unfortunately the food wasn’t great and compared to the prices we had in other restaurants around here quite pricey.
Read moreThe bruschette looked great but the taste was nothing special. One was just cut up raw carrot and courgette on oil, the second tasted like purreed beetroot out of a glass. The third one had mashed peas on it and was okay.
The main dish we both had was pretty boring. We felt like the ravioli had the same mashed peas in them as we ate on the bruschetta which wasn’t a problem but it didn’t taste like much. As someone who cooks Italian dishes regularly I can say that the tomato sauce the ravioli came with hadn’t soaked for long, the oil and the tomato juice hadn’t mixed properly yet and it tasted way too sweet.
It was served with dried oregano on it which isn’t a choice we would’ve expected from a restaurant.
Also they served it with extra cheese even though we specifically asked which dishes were vegan.
There were even more problems with the seating itself. The first one was that they forgot about our reservation and we had to wait until a table wasn’t occupied anymore. It’s only fair to say that we were 10 minutes late but they didn’t seem to even have it in their system even though we got a confirmation when booking.
We both remember clearly that we ordered two main dishes and a plate of bruschette. However, one main came and the other one didn’t. The person who brought it seemed to be from the kitchen and asked who it is for and we clearly signalled that it doesn’t matter since we both ordered the same and thought she or someone else would bring the other plate right after. The person with the main dish started eating because otherwise it would’ve gotten cold. When she was almost finished we asked about the second plate. After the server talked to the woman in the kitchen who had brought the one plate the man we had made the order with came around and told us that he thought we only had ordered one dish. The second plate did come after some more waiting but there wasn’t even an apology.
Pros: Free water, children’s drawings as table markings
Cons: Bad Service, Boring food, High prices for value

Worth trying but not the most exciting - Edit
They had 2 vegan dishes pasta with pumpkin sauce and curry sauce. They also had a ravioli in vegan walnut sauce and I was able to swap out the non-vegan ravioli for pasta that was vegan.
Read moreThere's also a vegan bruschetta starter and chocolate pudding dessert.
The pasta itself was good and I liked both the walnut and pumpkin sauce. The fact that it's just pasta with sauce made it a bit boring though. I wouldn't recommend the bruschetta or pudding, although it's nice to have the option of a starter and dessert.
They only have the menu hand-written on a black board by the counter, which made it a bit difficult to order, but the staff was very helpful and explained to us all the dishes.

I had a delicious vegan chickpea and curry ravioli dish here. The menu is in Italian only, but the helpful staff explained it for me, and pointed out which dishes were vegan and which were vegetarian.

Fabulous vegetarian place - Edit
Incredible pasta freshly made. Every item on the menu is vegetarian, the pasta we had was superb. I’m not sure the pasta would be ok for vegans, but they also do big salads - we shared a house salad for €10 which was in a huge bowl, and included fennel and red cabbage. Friendly quick service, very reasonable prices. Not fancy, just a great place to eat. Would definitely recommend. (Gets very busy, pop in and reserve a table otherwise you may not get a table inside. )

Excellent - Edit
In pasta is a wonderful restaurant with high quality food (fresh pasta, tasty vegetables, desserts made with love), friendly staff, good music at a reasonable volume, and with quick service. There is no shortage of vegan options, and the menu is constantly changing. The chickpea and curry ravioli were delicious!

Vegan / Veggie in Lucca - Edit
You order at the counter from a huge chalk board menu but perfect English and patience shown by staff. Clear vegan dishes to choose from. We went pasta today - curry and chickpea ravioli were tasty, veggie mushroom twisty pasta thing was substantial and delicious. From the sides, The €5 mixed vegetables were tasty (spinach, courgette, carotene). Generous Campari Spritz. Free bread, water ( refills) and Parmesan cheese. This takes €10 off your typical Lucca dinner bill. Waiting staff were excellent - getting the balance between checking in on us and keeping polite momentum going just right. Sit outside once you order and you get a picture so they find you. Trying to fit in a revisit.
Read moreUpdate: pasta and salad were great Day 2 too. It’s just nice to eat at a vegetarian restaurant with multiple vegan dishes for a change rather than hunting down scarce vegan options elsewhere.
