Serves meat, vegan options available. Restaurant and brewery offering vegan pizza, a hummus plate and roasted broccoli. Open Tue-Sat 4:00pm-10:00pm.
Bar open until midnight Fri & Sat.
Offers an appetizer of fried cauliflower with vegan sriracha lime aioli with pepitas, pizza with roasted veggies (no vegan cheese option), and a chickpea fritter sandwich with lemon aioli and arugula. They may have more options that I overlooked but nothing is labeled as vegetarian or vegan. Always has good beer on tap and fancy cocktails. Nice outdoor seating area for summer!
It's so nice to have a vegan option when having a beer instead of being limited to fries or soft pretzels. The pizza crust is really good but I didn't love the vegan cheese, pepperoni or sausage they used. I would prefer a less gluey vegan cheese and more veggies. That said, I'm still grateful for a vegan option.
The bar is industrial chic decor and very cozy. Really cozy outdoor seating area too.
Delicious vegan woodfired pizza, great atmosphere - Edit
Great woodfired pizza! I'd been by the restaurant before in the summer, and back then they only had one vegan pizza and an appetizer or two that could be veganized, but nothing too exciting that (for me) warranted a visit. But they've recently updated the menu and now have two creative vegan pizzas, one is roasted veggies and the other is housemade pepperoni.
Their pizza is bomb! It's a perfect woodfired thin crust, not so easy to find in Buffalo. The housemade pepperoni was super impressive, very flavorful and a great texture. I haven't had something like it before! Cheese was deliciously melty and they did not skimp on the vegan cheese which i really appreciated. Roasted veggies were cooked to perfection.
Fyi: The pizzas are personal sized, so order accordingly. The place is a cool cocktail bar and brewery with a fun and huge outside patio, so I'll definitely be coming back once the weather is warmer and dining is safe to do again.
Only point of improvement would be to add some intentional vegan options into every section of the menu (appetizers, desserts, etc) as right now it's just those two pizzas. But those are yummy so for now I'm just happy they have them!
A small pizzeria/brewery/bar in the Larkin District of Buffalo. They have good cocktails, and a nice selection of beers (https://hydraulichearth.com/cocktails/). They do offer a very good vegan pizza (one of the better ones that I have recently had) that has a delicious, crisp crust. The pizza's are small, and can be a single serving, or shared with others along with drinks. Though I didn't taste them on my recent visit, the Hydraulic Hearth does offer a hummus platter and roasted broccoli on the starters side of its menu (https://hydraulichearth.com/menu/). Its a location in Buffalo worth checking out.
