Not worth the money - Edit
We're always on the look out for new fully vegan restaurants, so on seeing House of Vegano, we were eager to try. Wow, what a disappointment! The sushi was very mediocre and, at the same time, very expensive. The service was indifferent and the ambience pretentious. Dining here was a sufficiently unpleasant experience that we won't be back.

Pass - Edit
We were really excited to try this place but left disappointed. Horrible service… we felt like we had to beg for water. Sushi takes forever and is nothing special, very overpriced for what it is.

Good but not great - Edit
Atmosphere was nice. I loved the salt rock floors. But the sushi rolls themself were a little bland. We tried the Baked Alaska and the Still I rise. The rolls were huge but mostly full of cucumber sticks. I’m glad we went but would not go back.

Fabulous Food and Service - Edit
Everything we tried was delicious- seaweed salad, Still I Rise roll, Gunkan, and dumplings. Tiramisu was delightful. Can’t wait to return. Staff and owner are awesome.

disappointing - Edit
I’m not picky about service, however for the steep prices and the fancy branding they try to accomplish, the slow, disorganized counter-service is disappointing. This was not a server issue, but an issue with the entire system being inefficient. It took over an hour to get our rolls. We started off with bland edamame, that was obviously just served with mae ploy. We tried four rolls which all pretty much tasted the same and were drenched in sauce. I am not expecting perfectly authentic sushi from a vegan place, but this place was completely americanized sushi, overwhelmed with sugar and mayo based sauces. I was extremely disappointed, especially considering we had non-veg people in our group who aren’t likely to try vegan food again after this experience. I was also still hungry after😒

I hate this review. Been 4 or 5 times and had great service. I don’t get special rolls so I can’t speak on the mayo or sugar based sauces but sorry your experience was so bad.

Don’t understand the hype - Edit
I don’t think I ever wrote a negative review for a vegan restaurant, but the sushi at house of vegano is just blah. It looks great, but it lacks flavor. We ordered 4 rolls and they were all bland. The disappointment was real, especially after paying the steep prices. Not worth the hype imo.

Disappointed :( - Edit
I’ve been wanting to try this place and I LOVE vegan sushi. The location is nice the restaurant inside is beautiful and the staff are friendly…then you see the prices and die a little bit. But I semi-expect that from vegan places so I got a spicy krab roll since it wasn’t ridiculously expensive. The spicy krab roll was flavorless and had almost no spice unless you dipped it in the wasabi. Disappointed. The dumplings were flavorful and good at least…much better than my roll. Maybe it was just the roll I tried but I left kinda disappointed knowing how hype this place is in St.Pete and vegan forums. I would wanna try a more featured roll but also spending $20 on a roll is out of my budget. I’ve had vegan sushi where the price wasn’t that horrible. I may be down to go back and try it again but I also don’t think I’ll have the money for that anytime soon.

Delicious - Edit
My meal was filling and delicious. I tried the spicy toona roll (made from tomato), the scallop truffle nigiri (made from mushroom), and the tom kha ramen (chili lemongrass with coconut milk). The ramen was far better than what you get in any of the ramen restaurants in Saint Pete.
Read moreThis menu is creative and plant forward. Unlike many other vegan restaurants in the area, it doesn't rely on heavily processed foods, fake meats and cheeses, etc. Nor is it one of those raw health nut places that skimp out on flavor and comfort. This place has balance and flavor. It's a wonderful showcase of creative vegan cuisine.
I also appreciated the ambiance. Not only was this place cute AF, but the seating was also very comfortable and the air temperature not too cold. It was also nice and quiet, not loud and overwhelming like so many local restaurants.
The only potential negative is that it's very expensive, but let's face it... Isn't everything crazy expensive now? At least here, you're getting quality for the money.

Delicious food, exceptional service, great ambiance with Himalayan salt block floors. Plenty of gluten-free options. We had The Burg, King Krab, Tiramisu and Guava Rose Cheesecake (with dried rose petals) and local kombucha. Large portions and so good! Definitely recommend!

Cheap ingredients and pricy menu - Edit
I was so excited to try this restaurant and can’t believe what a let down it was. The restaurant was completely run by teenagers with no sushi-making experience, and the rolls came out falling apart. I’ve never seen sushi stuffed entirely with cucumbers. I seriously hope that no non-vegan sushi eaters come here, because there are some major corners cut with little to no inspiration on flavor.

Really good & real gold - Edit
The sushi is delicious as are the dumplings. We dream about them. The dumplings were in a heavenly sauce that simply melted. So yummy. Just too expensive. Two of us, two dishes, and an appetizer - over $100. Not a regular occurrence.

Best Sushi of My Life - Edit
Undoubtedly the best sushi (vegan or otherwise) that I have ever eaten. We literally drove over from Orlando to eat here because the food is that incredible. The employees are always kind and helpful. The overall vibe is uplifting. I wish it was closer, but we will continue to make the drive to eat here!

I was there for the grand opening led by my spiritual Universe! I had five different rolls and I loved each one! The owner is a jem, and her spiritual essence of Love shines through each and every menu item. This is on my list of "go-tos".

Large Portions, Ok Food - Edit
Firstly, House of Vegano recently changed locations, their new address is 1990 Central Avenue. It was a bit frustrating to show up at the wrong location and still be confused even after calling and asking.
Read moreAlthough I am not big on sushi I decided to give it a try. I got the Summer Sweet Potato Roll because it was one of the only non “fishy” ones. It was alright but I had trouble eating it because of the large portion size. My bf got the Volcano Roll and said the same.
There are other food options such as ramen and dumplings served F,Sat,Sun. The only drink options are water, seltzer, and kombucha.
If sushi is something you really love as a vegan I would definitely recommend, but for me it was a bit of a let down.

Me and my sister went here to celebrate some milestones. Couldn't have been happier with everything! The sushi was incredible and beautifully made. It even had gold flakes in it. The foodie in me was celebrating a happy dance! Thalia the owner is amazing, and she's got the BEST Wasabi in town. I love the decorations and ambiance. P.S. I tried her dumplings on another occasion and they are also to die for, definitely try those when you stop in.

solid vegan sushi - Edit
i got the volcano roll at veg fest and was so surprised at the thought that went into it. vegan sushi is typically pretty basic, but this for the dedication of fish-based sushi. it tasted amazing! it was quite expensive, especially for it being filled with cucumber and not a protein.
