Skip the vegan platter, or even better; go to Kotor - Edit

Read moreRestaurant Conte has its own vegan menu with several options, and the location by the sea is absolutely fantastic. The service was also incredibly good. The waitstaff were attentive and ensured we had everything we needed.
We tried the vegan jambalaya and the vegan platter. The former was flavorful but didn’t quite meet expectations, as it lacked vegan substitutes for either meat or seafood. The vegan platter consisted of fried potato wedges, a burger patty, and a sausage, tasting very similar to Beyond Burger. With the meal, we had a freshly pressed juice of pineapple, apple, and strawberry, which was very good.
The food was okay. The jambalaya cost 18 euros, which was almost a fair price, but the vegan platter was 28 euros, which was absolutely not worth it.
They also have a sad tank full of live lobsters.
If you have the opportunity, I recommend paying 2 euros to take the bus to Kotor, 20 minutes away, where they actually have good vegan food at a reasonable price.

We had a late breakfast so we went there only for a cup of coffee and a dessert (they had soy milk and two vegan desserts: baklava and apple strudel) and were very satisfied. The place is super nice and the service was amazing. We vere quite excited when we saw that they have a clearly labeled vegan menu, including meals like rissoto, pasta, a vegan plate that includes a mock steak, tofu sausage and fries, and a few other options. They also have some vegan starters, such as tomato soup anf olive pate. Can't wait to get back there for lunch.

Really the only place we found that has good vegan options in Perast. Options are clearly marked on the menu. The food was pricy for Montenegro but the service was very good.

Always good to see a vegan menu, even a limited one! Lunch for one was a big plate of silky zucchini/courgette carpaccio with delicious bread, although I would have welcomed an extra item or two on the plate to mix it up a bit. Expensive but, you know, sometimes you have to treat yourself, particularly when it's a beautiful day and the view is marvellous!

Back home in the UK I’d be aghast at paying €24 for a beyond burger and sausage with chips. But in Montenegro where protein rich vegan food is so hard to come by in restaurants I nearly cried with happiness.
