Perfect Vegan Vietnamese Cuisine - Edit
It's such a pleasure, this Restaurant came to Munich. Everthing is just like it should be😉The furnishing and the hole design of the place is modern and cosy at the same time. There are not too many dishes on the menu. Typical vietnamese and eastern asian dishes are combined with seasonal vegetables like beetroot or radish.

Food was interesting but a little bit too salty - Edit
Hippie chay's menu offers some authentic Vietnamese dishes, such as a vegan Phở, spring and summer rolls, next to interesting sushi, desserts, fried avocado etc. I ordered a bao bun with fake duck and the crispy lemon avo for take-away. Since it took some time to arrive home to eat the food, my duck was a little bit tough, but still crispy and very flavourful. The bun didn't get soggy as well, only the rest of the filling (hoi sin sauce, vegan mayo and fresh veggies) didn't impress me that much (unfortunately I had the bao bun at Chi Thu a while ago, which was bigger and a little bit cheaper, and there was pickled carrots inside which made it much more authentic and delicious). The bao bun was also a little bit too salty for my taste. The crispy avocado sticks were still very crispy after traveling, only the panko/batter or the sauce was too salty for me, too, and the mayo didn't do anything much flavourwise... also quite pricy imo, 5 slices for 5,50 €.

I had the Glücksrollen, the Udon Xao and the Coconut balls. The Glücksrollen was so-so and not very flavourful in my opinion. The Udon Xao was good but not amazing. The best part was definitely the Coconut balls, they were the best dessert I've had in Munich.
All in all it was nice! I wouldn't do takeaway from here again (because I never do takeaway), but I would love to go back when you're allowed to sit in the restaurant.

We had three starters and to mains. The starters were ok, with nice spring rolls and bao bun and quite tasteless "calamari". Wonderful sauces and dips though! As for the mains, banh mi was unfortunately not available, so I had the monk soup with fabulous won tans and a very aromatic broth and my partner went for udon noodles. We were missing more taste and spices, as all the dishes were kind of plain. But overall, very positive experience, and the prices are fair.

Read moreWe were 6 people and asked the waitress for all starters and Sushis. Not only that the food was absolutely amazing, the drinks an the service have been outstanding.
If you’d ask me about my favourites I would say the Calamari Rings, Summer Rolls, Wan Tan and fried Avocado.
All over all it was the perfect evening at a reasonable price.

My boyfriend (who is not following a plant-based diet at all) and I went on a day-trip to Munich yesterday as a late anniversary gift to get some vegan food - because in Upper Austria it is almost impossible to find any places.
Read moreWe were greeted extremely warmly and things on the menu were explained to us. They were very accommodating regarding food allergies as well, asking in the kitchen to give us exact information. Everything arrived quickly and it was really tasty. We weren't big fans of the faux duck but that's just a personal taste thing.
We would and most probably will absolutely visit them again.
Side note: We ordered the "Be your own chef" option and were both stuffed with deliciousness after!

Finally!! An all vegan paradise in Giesing! - Edit
Hippie chay is one of my fav restaurants in Munich! Giesing has been needing some 100% vegan spots, and this place delivers. The food is beautiful, you feel like your transported to bali or Sydney when you dine in. A little pricey, but totally worth it!
