Subpar Food - Edit
It's vegan but it's not appetizing. The Samosas we ordered were mushy and lacked any spice. The Indian wrap was dry as the desert and as flat and empty as it too. The kale hemp bowl was submerged in peanut sauce and lacked actual hemp seeds. I wasn't sure if I was having a bowl of peanut butter or just rice. Either way we will not be coming back.

Healthy comfort food - Edit
I would say about 99% of the time I come here the food is amazing. There have been a few times where they forgot to bring out certain items and they needed to be reminded a few times, but for the most part the food here is amazing. I have been coming here for years and I definitely can tell with time that there have been significant improvements as of lately.
Read moreOne of the first few times I came here, I ordered sweet potato fries, the restaurant was practically empty and they didn’t seem to have too many orders going on. After about 45 minutes, burnt and cold sweet potato fries were brought to my table. I politely asked the waitress to look at my fries and feel one of them to see how cold they were. After that, she apologized and soon after brought out a fresh batch of sweet potato fries that were perfect, freshly made and delicious.
Then, for a while any time I would go, the food was so amazing and high vibe for the most part.
There was a recent order where my boyfriend paid 10$ for mozzarella sticks for us both to share, and 3 tiny mozzarella pieces were brought to us. We both felt pretty unheard when we tried to let the waitress know that we felt like it wasn’t a unfair meal portion or that the menu photo wasn’t a accurate representation of how much food would come with it. She just said that’s how the kitchen makes it and that was it.
I looked up online reviews that same day and noticed another customer was not happy with the same item, so I reached out to the owner to let her know how we felt. She apologized and offered to have any menu item comped for us.
The food was really fresh and delicious when we ordered today. I got the India wrap and he got the Thai temple bowl. We also got green island smoothies.
So refreshing and nourishing 🌿
thank you Ahimsa 💚
Pros: All vegan , So many healthy options , Both raw and cooked food availability

This is my favorite vegan spot in LB. They have a robust menu with lots of veggies, but they also have good faux-meat options. Very friendly staff. Pro-peace, pro-love atmosphere. If Ahimsa started a commune, I'd join.

Ashore with Ahimsa - Edit
Just got off Royal Princess and didn’t have great selection of vegan meals and almost non-existent desserts. Great to find a vegan restaurant to make up for four nights.

Delicious! - Edit
We ordered the temp bowl and the Indian wrap. Both were large portions. We split the Indian wrap first and it was so delicious. We then had the Tempe bowl which felt a little bland in comparison but still tasty. Maybe more peanut sauce would help.

It’s ok. - Edit
We got the beyond burgers delivered to our hotel from here which was great. The next day we decided to go to the restaurant. That didn’t go so well. Service is slow and they don’t seem to care much about customers. Also they got both our burgers wrong and had to remake them. It took SO long to get our food.

It was okay, expensive for what it is - Edit
We chose this because it was close to where we were and had a single dollar sign on its HappyCow page. The food was okay (nothing to write home about), and it turned out to be a two dollar sign place in terms of cost (which shows on the general search results page, but not on the restaurant's specific HappyCow page for some reason). They got one of our sides wrong, but brought out a replacement quickly. The woman at the register didn't seem very interested in customer service. The food was okay, but more in the single dollar sign range in terms of quality. I like to visit vegan restaurants when they're available, but would try another one of the many options available were I to visit Huntington Beach again.

Ahimsa is the best Old School (Loving Hut style) Vegan restaurant I know! Affordable Chicken Burgers, great sweet potato fries and now Vegan fried egg available. Same style as Green Leaves in Los Feliz, chances are you’ll hear SP Morrissey on the radio. Order at the counter and enjoy!

I had the tempeh reuben delivered to my hotel. Even for being delivered, it was crispy and delicious! I did pick the arugula off, but it was still very good!
