Delicious meal and great live music - Edit
I came to the Hideout as it was open later and promised live music. I had checked online menu for vegan options and had read previous Happy Cow reviews. Initially I had fancied a pizza ( have enjoyed local food for past week but wanted pizza), and asked what charge would be if had margherita but no cheese just the add ons of olives and mushrooms. No can do I was told. A margherita was 3100 LKR and the two add ons were 900 LKR. Didn’t think that was fair and overly $ for a vegan pizza. I was recommended the cauliflower steak with chickpea puree and chimichurri which I have to say was delicious.

Cons: pricy for Sri Lanka, cannot make pizza substitutions and $ for VE pizza

Was busy when I was there, mostly tourists. I ordered the vegan meatballs which came with coconut rice and grated veg, it was good. Obviously pricier than the traditional spots around town.

My sister had the vegan meatballs, they were really good. I tried the burger (it says on the menue that the bun is not vegan so you have to order without) but it wasn't that special, would recommend the meatballs. We also had iced latte with almond milk, which was very good. Music wasn't too loud when we were there but we were told that they sometimes have live music in the evenings.

Cool vibe and nice atmosphere - Edit
Four stars mostly based on the vibe. A cool spot, with a mixed crowd, live music and quick service even though it was crowded. The vegan burger was ok. I would recommend but not with food being the main reason.

Really nice to see so many different vegan options. I had the vegan meatballs which were delicious. Nice ambience of chilled house music, though was a bit loud for eating. Fab cocktail range 🍸

Good and clearly marked vegan options. I had the black pumpkin curry which was delicious although it’s not as spicy as I would have liked it to be. Cocktails were delicious and incorporated Sri Lankan made alcohol.
